Thanks for your great review. Glad you were able to get about even with the outage.
The exhibits range from the high desert's flora and fauna; an excellent Indian display; a Great Depression room; and a 1904 ranch; plus much, much more. There's activities for the whole family regardless of age.
Thanks for your wonderful review. There is a lot to see and do here. The exhibit on the Depression-era called "Art for a Nation: Inspiration from the Great Depression" will continue to October 2, 2016.
The High Desert Museum is a great introduction to the geography, climate, vegetation, and animals of the area. I'd highly recommend trying to get there for the walking tour as that's where we learned the most about the vegetation of the high desert. And also trying to catch some of the critter meet & greets, as they have some very neat animals you might not otherwise see up that close (like a porcupine and various raptors!).
This museum is well worth the stop, especially at the front of of your stay in the Bend area.
Thank you for taking the time to give us a review. We are glad you enjoyed your visit and the nature walk. You can always check our website for the schedule of daily talks and animal encounters. We hope you can make it by again soon.
The High Desert Museum is great for the entire family! The displays are interesting, varied and very well done. I like the combination of inside and outside things to see as well as planned activities like the raptor show and otter feedings.
Thank you so much for the review- we are glad you enjoy visiting the Museum and we hope you make it out again soon.
We loved the ranch and sawmill. Inside exhibits were great. Loved all the sculptures scatterred throughout. A lot of thought went into the exhibits. Highly recommend.
Thanks for your nice review and glad to hear you were surprised at the exhibits and sculptures.
This is a great museum to go through the history. Children will enjoy however there is not a lot to see.
Thanks for writing a review of the Museum.
