Thanks for the great review. Depending on how in-depth one wants to go, a half-day is a good amount of time to spend at the Museum.
The High Desert Museum is highly educational, fun and entertaining! It really is a must go-to when you're visiting Bend or Sunriver...from history of the area, to live animals from snakes to salamanders to bobcats, it has something for everyone. The guided tours are very educational and informative, and its worth every cent!
Thank you for your review. You said it best, there is "something for everyone" here at the Museum.
Just amazing!!!! The birds of pray show was by far the best. Loved how they had a nature walk to tell you about different plants.
Thanks for your great review. The trail signage is getting redone and we will have more plant identification signs soon.
Outstanding spot to visit near Bend. If you are visiting central Oregon make sure to check out the High Desert Museum! Very kid friendly. Very good interactive wildlife exhibits. Make sure to watch the otter feeding and the birds of prey. In the summer they run their saw mill, very interesting!
Thanks for the great review and comments about the exhibits and wildlife encounters. We appreciate your positive feedback!
It was so much more than I ever expected. The main building has exhibit after exhibit. The grounds and living exhibits where presented maintained extremely well.
Thank you for the great review and glad to hear we exceeded your expectations!
This is a nice place to spend a few hours learning about the history of the Northwest, and the Oregon Trail. You can see how settlers, natives, and miners lived centuries ago. You can also see quite a few examples of the areas wildlife, like Bald Eagles, Bobcats, & Otters. Check the website to see any new exhibits they have coming. Also, many of the site are outdoors, so check the weather to see if you want sunscreen, a coat, or both.
Thanks for the great review and for pointing out that because there are outdoor exhibits, dress for the weather.
