“The Crowded and Uncrowded Forests”
Reviewed August 3, 2014

We spent 3-4 days in our vacation with time in this beautiful forest The contrast in crowds is stark. Cultus Lake and Elk Lake are beautiful lakes but being the summer season they are very crowded with tourists right now. Elk Lake even had a wedding party being held there and it was almost impossible to get parking to take a few photos. Then there is beautiful aquamarine colored Devils Lake along the Cascades Lakes Scenic Byway toward Mt. Bachelor. Only a few kayakers are on the lake and a few tourists taking pictures. Sparks Lake nearby offers great views of South Sister and Broken Top Mt. with again only a few kayakers and campers.

“Beautiful drive”
Reviewed July 12, 2014

Any forest is appealing to me, and this one has beautiful Tumala Falls. It's a short walk to the falls from the parking area, and has all the quiet beauty of a river, and good smells of nature!

“Tumalo Falls and Tumalo Creek Trails are gorgeous!”
Reviewed July 9, 2014

We hiked here a couple of times and never, ever had a mediocre experience. The hike to Tumalo Falls and then past to the Twin Falls and Upper Falls is not to be missed. Trails are well marked and groomed nicely. No climbing over rocks or downed trees here. Several places to picnic at the Creek and several loop trails. It's nice that the trails are marked for specific uses (mountain biking, hiking, horses, etc.) and they do a decent job of keeping all these types of traveling styles separated so there's no conflict.

Dogs do not have to be on leash here and they have a wonderful time splashing in the cold creek. Parking at the trail head is limited to about 12 vehicles, but you can park down further w/o issues.

“Beautiful place for a bike race”
Reviewed June 29, 2014

My son had a bike race at the Wanoga Sno park and it was a fantastic place for everyone. While we waited the other members of the family rode their bikes on the dirt bike park situated at the bottom of the Sno park area. Their were trails to explore and beautiful blue skies and pines to admire. Can't go wrong here. Worth every minute.
