My husband and I stayed here recently with our 2 and 5 year old. We were given a room on the second floor, a room that didn't share a wall with another room. Things started out good until we received a call to the room saying the person below us was complaining about the jumping my children were doing. We were shocked since we had been sitting down, eating a pizza we brought in. Our 2 year old was just doing normal 2 year things, going from here to there in the room checking it out or going through luggage. There was no jumping. A little while later, my son is in the shower and we get another call asking us to move to a different room. I was in the middle of getting the children ready for bed and said I'd talk to my husband and call back. When my daughter was in the shower another call came in threatening to call to police if we don't move!! The front desk guy said more complaints came in. It was absolutely ridiculous. We weren't doing anything excessive and have never in all our travels been treated like this.
We moved to a lower level room, next to the laundry room. The front desk guy 'guaranteed' us no one would do laundry until we checked out the next day, so we won't hear any laundry done. After listening to every footsteps the person above us took, listening to every trip to the bathroom that person took, flushing a toilet, washing up, we finally fell asleep. Thinnest floors I've ever encountered. Then we were woken by what sounded like a train but it was just the washing machine running at midnight. My husband attempted to call the front desk, but the phone didn't work. So he had to walk to the front desk in an attempt to get it stopped before the children woke. The new person working had no idea about the 'guarantee' we were given. Great communication folks!
The real kicker was while checking out, who come out of the room directly across from the second floor room we had been originally given?? A family with 3 small children, all 5 and under! I know their ages because the are acquaintances of mine.
Of course the person below heard out footsteps because the floors are thin, but any other room complaining about our steps would be impossible. Probably came from the other family. And of course noises would stop by the time we moved because it was past bedtimes for little children.
