This is one of our regular spots - always fresh (locally-sourced), always great wine, always friendly. There's plenty for vegetarians and meat-lovers, ample accommodation for gluten-free diners, and a menu that offers variety without being overwhelming. The penne al sugo di carne (beef braised in Chianti and espresso) is always tough to pass up, but with daily varieties of ravioli, lasagna, and risotto, it's worth branching out. Ample Italian and other wines by the glass, half-bottle, and bottle, including a nice after-dinner assortment (try the crema di limoncello); if you have room, there are several desserts to tempt, particularly the prugne giubellate (prunes poached in nebbiolo, port and cinnamon with house-made mascarpone) and torta di mela (apple cake).

Good ambiance, food and drinks but a bit pricy. It's not a big place so it's better to have a reservation.

Our family of three dined at Mingo this evening. I had the above mentioned shrimp. It was really fantastic and was probably the best shrimp dish I've had. The spices enhanced the flavor greatly. Our son had the thin crust three cheese and italian meat pizza and thought it had particularly good herbs and flavoring. It was made from the highest quality ingredients. He shared - Yum! My husband had a a pasta dish topped with braised meat and he said "it was good" (but he's reading now and doesn't go into lurid details about food. Sadly, last night was halloween so no sweet ending for us. I'd go back tomorrow night. The server was very nice and helped me combine items. I also thought this was a great value. With no wine or cocktails or dessert, we spent $54.00 plus tip which was a very fair price for this quality food. If it helps to guage our idea of reasonable price, we're coming from Seattle.

Mingo has some great modern italian food - including a rotating risotto option depending on the season. In fact, their menu changes several times a year, providing a fresh and new experience with each visit - this time included an awesome chicken and mushroom lasanga! Great wine selection, both local and international. Friendly, prompt service. Good sized portions for the price, lots of fresh-baked bread to compliment the meal.

Beaverton location is my favorite, partially the slightly lesser crowds, but like the staff there better too. Definitely get a reservation if you can, this place is quite popular!

We went to Mingo around 8pm on Saturday night. The restaurant is in the Round in downtown Beaverton. I should note that the parking is a little confusing. Be sure to pay attention to signs and don't park in any of the restricted areas.
There was no line and we were seated immediately at a booth in the bar. There were several people sitting on stools at the bar and it was a little noisy.
Service was very good. We were given help with wine selections and a list of food specials. When I noted that a wine my husband was looking at was typically more German or Swiss than Italian, the server noted that it was from the Italian border with Switzerland.
We ordered the specials, vegetarian lasagna with heirloom tomatoes and a medium rare filet stuffed with gorgonzola and served with green beans and potatoes.
There was rustic bread and olive oil on the table prior to dinner being served. The food was delicious! Prepared as described, we downed our tasty food quickly. We passed on dessert but the menu looked interesting.
This restaurant has an extensive wine list and a large outdoor seating area.
