“Immaculatly clean and comfortable”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012

An unexpectedly comfortable and extremely clean guesthouse. We stayed in aprtment 3a looking out onto the harbour, although it was difficult to get a good view as the stairs to the upstairs apartment were located nearly in front of our window. The bathroom was minute and windowless which didn't encourage you to linger. The apartment itself was spacious with a living room with fridge and microwave and also a comfortable settee. We ate breakfast at The Station which the manager had recommended.

We were trying to decide whether to stay in Old town or closer to the beach. I am glad we picked Sea Star as everything was within walking distance and it was very tidy. It's a 5-min ride to the beach where we took some pictures of the sea stacks at sunset. We were in Rm 2 for one night. It is small and the bath is tiny but it had a microwave, coffee pot & mini frig as well as a small table. There is a skylight right above the bed so fun to wake up to the clouds & blue sky. There is also an outside table on the porch where we ate cooked crab (we caught them in Winchester Bay & got them cooked in Charleston) with a view of the harbor and people walking by. The owners even left some paper plates & napkins for us. We thought it might be noisy at nite but everyone settled down by about 11. Just a note that there isn't a parking lot so parking is along the street which was a little tricky during the cranberry festival but we found a place after it ended at 6.

Room Tip: Our room was good for 1 nite but if you are staying longer or the weather isn't good, recommend...

We stayed at the Sea Star Guesthouse Room 4. Its on the back said but still a great room. Right next to all the fun of the festival, Loved the room and the owners, they are a real nice couple. We had a great time there a hope to go next year.

When we reserved for one night at the Sea Star Guesthouse, we didn't realize what a wonderful location Old Town would be. We had a great time exploring Old Town and the waterfront with our children. I was expecting to have a view of the harbor so was a little disappointed when we realized that room #5 is on the backside of the building and does not face the water.

We stayed in Suite 1 that was spacious, well appointed and very clean. It had 2 twin beds downstairs and a loft with a queen bed upstairs. It was on the top floor (stairs only) and the entire front of the room was glass with a view of the boats in the harbor.

All the shops and restaurants of Old Town Bandon were minutes away.

The Sea Star Guesthouse welcomed us from the time we made our reservation. Bill and Pat were incredibly kind and helpful and our room (#2) had a gorgeous view of the harbor. The room was clean and comfortable and offered a mini-fridge and microwave for convenience. The view from the room was the absolute high point with a wonderful shared porch in front of it. We stayed for one night on our trip from Seattle to San Francisco and we could not beat the value. It was incredibly affordable for all of the comfort.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 2, which had a beautiful view out over the harbor and was very cozy.

We very much enjoyed our two nights at the Sea Star Guesthouse while touring the Oregon Coast. It was lovely to sit out and have coffee in the little front garden area and look across at the harbor. Truly great view of the harbor, and great access to pretty downtown Bandon-by-the-Sea. Watch the boats, listen to the seagulls, awesome espresso shop right behind the guesthouse. Very clean room with bright, sea-side colors and charming touches like seashell nightlights. Very friendly managers, as well. Just a really great place to stay on the Oregon Coast!
