Based on previous reviews we made reservations for 7:45 on a Thursday night. When we arrived we noticed a party of eight already eating but the restaurant was not filled up. Our server took our order promptly and then we waited. first it took a half hour for our salads to come out. Then we waited for another hour for our main courses to arrive. Never once did any stop by to acknowledge that it was taking to long. In fact the one time we could get some to speak to us the excuse was, "it takes longer to cook the medium-well fillet". Honest, that was the only excuse we were given. It was 9:15 when our food arrived. My entree consisted of four scollops on a bed of greens with nothing else. The portions were all very small except for the hamburger order. We made the mistake of all ordering the chocolate tart. It was dry and tasteless. It's not often I will leave a chocolate dessert unfinished, but I did. The restaurant was empty and the staff was cleaning up as we left. Again nobody ever said a word about our experience. I have rarely seen such disregard for the customer in a small, local restaurant.

Spent a night in Bandon passing down the coast and lodging folks recommended The Loft. We had no reservation and were able to be seated at the bar because even on a Sunday evening they were very busy. And for good reason... The meal was phenomenal. Even more surprising was the fact it was produced by the 20 something owner/chef. One of the best meals ever and I eat out close to 100 times a year between business travel and personal dining. Yes it can be/is a bit of a noisy place, yes it can be/was pretty a pretty slow evening and yes the person behind the bar didn't have the most gregarious personality, but if you have the time to spend and each other's company to enjoy, it is a wonderful leisurely dinner with a great sunset view.

We arrived for dinner without reservations which is chancy due to its popularity and limited seating. We were able to be seated at the 4-stool bar which usually isn't an option for us but this place is small and the noise and activity at this bar wasn't an issue. Staff service was great as well as the food. I tried their Loft Burger which may have been one of the better burgers I've ever eaten; fries were also crisp and not greasy. My wife's green salad with Marcona almonds and crab cakes were excellent as well. A number of other patrons were ordering the scallops which were prepared with a light floury coating on the bottom which produced a really tempting look to the dish. Our server filled us in on the preparation of this dish when we questioned her. Good wine selection, also.
Would definitely recommend this establishment.

Disappointed with our meal here. After reading TA reviews, we were looking forward to dining here, however the whole customer experience was foul from the start. Staff were not friendly at all - it wouldn't have hurt to crack a smile! The waiting time was very long. Over 40 mins for our meal to be served. The menu is limited and very spendy for what it is, and when the mains finally did come out, the portion sizes were small and we concluded that this place is really not very good value at all. Would think twice before returning here.

We stopped here due to the trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed! Yes it was pricey, no we did not have reservations and had to eat at the bar, but it still was worth it. The staff was very friendly and made great recommendations. This is not the place to go if you're in a big hurry as everything is made fresh to order....and boy can you taste the difference!
