“Best at Sunset After the Sun Disappears”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

We spent three evenings at Face Rock photographing sunsets and each evening was beautiful and very different. There is a very long set of steps down to the beach from the parking lot with benches along the way to sit and enjoy different views. I didn't see any covered spots along this path from the parking lot so maybe there are another set of stairs down to the beach somewhere else. These appear to be the main set and as others have said they are quite long. Once on the beach there is another walk to the best viewing site just north of Face Rock.
The sunsets are to die for at this location. If you're lucky enough to be there at low tide the reflections of the sky in the water are spectacular. Also the colors in the sky for the first twenty minutes after the sunsets produce great images. So I recommend not leaving as soon as the sun sets. The best show is yet to come.

A gorgeous place to visit! It wasn't windy when we were there, but my understanding is that is unusual (because it is usually VERY windy here), so you'll want to come dressed/prepared accordingly. The weather changes quickly here and so there are ample opportunities for dramatic and seemingly ever-changing views. There are stairs down to the beach, which are well-constructed. There is a covered area about half-way down the stairs, which provided nice shelter from the rain from which to take photographs.

“Sunset in Bandon”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

Facerock in Bandon OR is a special viewpoint. The rock looks like the profile of a woman & has a wonderful legend around it. For those who do not want to go down the many steps down & back up to the beach this is a perfect place to view sunsets in gorgeous Bandon. I live on the North OR coast but Bandon is still one of my favorite beaches to visit. The rock formations are spectacular at sunset. If you visit this coastline do not miss the scenic coast drive of Bandon; you will be sorry.

“Great view of the old lady”

This is a nice viewpoint that offers excellent views of Oregon Coast rocks and islands. There is also a nice trail to the beach for further explorations. This is a great spot for photographs and bird and seal watching.

“Indian Face Rock”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

You can access it along the beach, or by car down 101 hwy.
From the viewpoint there are stairs that take you down to the beach.
Fantastic view of the beach and the sea.
There is a big sign explaining the legend of the native woman and her dog and kittens.
A place to build some memorable moments after returning home.
