Best Western Sunridge Inn
Ranked #1 of 10 Hotels in Baker City
Reviewed May 13, 2008

This hotel was alright. The walls were pretty thin and the outside doors banged when people entered or exited the floor. There were no elevators so if you're staying on the upper floors, pack light since you will be dragging your luggage up several flights of stairs. Also, the free wireless internet was extremely slow although it showed an excellent connection. The hotel's redeeming qualities included a nice looking outdoor pool and a nearby restaurant and lounge. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.

Overall, keep your expectations low, and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Spread out--several different buildings with separate outside entrances. Clean and quiet room, some hall noise. No free breakfast, but a coupon at registration helps ease the pain.
I thought the price paid ($93 with taxes for a double) a bit out of line for what and where it was, but I suppose that reflects the skiers.
The attached restaurant was a plus for me, just because they had a special (beef stroganoff) that wasn't fried. All in all a decent place to stop between Salt Lake and Seattle.

We stayed at this hotel toward the end of a very long holiday road trip. This is a great place to stay in Baker City--especially if you have a dog. I forgot to take photos of the interior of the hotel; but it's clean, quiet and the rooms are quite large. The hotel has easy access to the highway, but it's also close to the center of town.

Baker City is a lovely town (especially in the snow). There's a great brewpub in town, several coffee roasters and a great kitchen shop/winebar across from the historic Geiser Grand Hotel.

Next time we're traveling to Eastern Oregon, we will definitely stop in Baker City and stay at the Sunridge.

What a find - made reservations at the last minute (that morning) not really sure what I was getting.

Although the hotel sits right off the interstate, you would never know it. A nice little oasis of green with beautiful landscaping and grounds. Two story building surround a courtyard which contains green space, the pool area, and a terrace for the restaurant and bar. Great to sit on the terrace with a glass of wine after driving for 10 hours!

Pool was used by a mix of adults and children. The children were supervised by their parents. There is a large indoor spa, which has a large window so you can still enjoy the grounds.

The 1st floor room was nice, bright, clean and comfortable. Nice light colors, sheer drapes to let in light, but provide privacy. No smoke or off smells. Sparkling clean bathroom. Walkout sliding glass door to patio with 2 chairs.

WIFI worked in room and patio area, nice to sit outside and slug through email.

This was the first time I stayed at Sunridge Inn since 1979 (I was 9 years old.) The outside still has the attractive wood exterior, and the rooms have been updated. The indoor corridor is a nice touch and having a restaurant with great food and a bar on the property makes this a logical and comfortable choice. There is also another family style restaurant, Sumpter Junction, on the other side of Sunridge Lane, and a full service Sinclair truck stop, The Baker Truck Corral, is across Campbell St.

The only thing I would change is to enclose the pool since winters in Baker City can be brutal, but the hot tub (spa) is inside.

We dropped in on our way home off the interstate highway. We were greeted by a friendly staff person willing to help us get a room for the night. She gave us a easy acess room without us even having to ask as she saw my cane. The room was comfortable and roomy and very clean. Bathrooms were in top shape. The furniture looked like it may have been new as well as the rug too. The view off to the side was of the mountains. We heard no noise from traffic even though the room looked off to the interstate. The grounds are beautiful and in summer would be an excellent place to stay with family as have a very nice pool area. The only small complaint is no continental breakfast. However, there is a restaurant on the grounds that serve excellent food for a very good price. The food in the restaurant was cooked to perfection. Good place to stay for the cost. Excellent staff !

This Best Western is built around a pleasant central courtyard with pool. We were given a very large king-bed room with balcony for our stay in September 2006. There was free wireless internet although we didn't manage to get it to work for us. No complimentary breakfast but we had a nice breakfast and dinner in the attached restaurant. The hotel was very convenient for the I-84. It's right next to a truck stop so try and get a room that doesn't overlook it (mainly those in building 1 we think). We would stay here again.
