We have stayed at the Oregon Trail before and stayed there again just by chance, because I-84 had gotten so slick that we decided it would be better to stay in Baker City before heading home the next morning.
The office is quirky and fun (ie, the pet iguana had escaped its pen and was camped out in the Christmas tree) and the staff always very friendly and helpful.
If you are looking for luxury, this is not the place to stay. It is serviceable, clean, quiet and very good value. The beds are really some of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on in a motel. Though we were pet free this trip, the motel is very pet friendly. For $44, we got a single King, with complimentary breakfasts at the Oregon Trail Restaurant (on the same property). The restaurant has good All-American breakfasts in a very friendly atmosphere.
My only complaint, if it really is a complaint, was that the shower head couldn't really be called a shower head, as it didn't so much shower as shoot a single forceful stream of water at you. As I am very particular about a good shower head, perhaps this really wouldn't be such a big deal to anyone but me.
Overall, for the price, this motel is just a great deal.
