My mom and I were returning from Santa Fe and Taos, NM taking the Panhandle Route through Oklahoma, you know, wide open spaces and unusual topography, really beautiful. We stopped for the night in Woodward. The first hotel we stopped at was nice but had no rooms on the ground floor. The nice fella at the desk called ahead to the Super 8 on the other side of town. He said it was nice and clean and reasonable. On the way we passed several other places and we were glad that we did! Pleasantly renovated, great locally inspired photo's graced the walls above the beds and we were grateful to be in a quiet room off the back and on the ground floor, for mom. The crew under the direction of Alex, a skilled craftsman, were there finishing up the nice quality changes to the conveniently located motel. To be sure, owners, Ken and Pam, should be very proud of what they have to offer the road wary guests. Even the coffee was great the next morning (we were so cozy, mom and I slept in and missed the free breakfast). The nice girl tidying up in the breakfast room happily made some fresh coffee for me to take back to the room for mom. We will definitely stay there again when passing through.

Room Tip: Call ahead for a room in the back if quiet is important. One might find road noise an obstacle to f...

In town for three days for a wedding and had a smoking and non smoking room. Service on the backside smoking room was awesome, non smoking room had no maid service at all, and numerous issues. The flies in both rooms were horrible partly due to all the outside trash cans due to remodeling. The front desk staff were awesome. No road noise at all.

Room Tip: Wait until renovation is complete and accountability with cleaning staff.

We were in town for a weekend wedding. The Super 8 Hotel is under going a remodel. We stayed 2 nights on the ground floor facing the street. We didn't hear a lot of road noise, until early Saturday morning when the person next door started their diesel truck & let it warm up for 15 mins =( Since it's under a remodeling project, the office was being painted & everything was a mess. But We knew that going in. There must have been a problem in the water lines because the toilet kept making noise, so we had to close the bathroom door while we slept. Then during the night & early Saturday when anyone ran the water, the pipes started making noise waking us up with the loud buzzing & humming in the pipes. Must have been water pressure problems because when I took a shower the water went from hot to cold, hot to warm with loud rattling noise it wasn't a nice wake up that's for sure. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, hair dryer, coffee maker & micro wave & refrig in room plus a nice TV. I think the room price was above average ? 2 full size beds @ 69.00 + TX per night weekend rates? Anyway I'm sure when it's finished it will be a lot better, maybe even a continental breakfast? I would have no problem staying there again.

Room Tip: could tell or didn't see much with the remodeling going on. Don't know when it will finished...

Being in the Oil & Gas Industry, I have stayed in many hotels in the Mid-Con area. The Super 8 in Woodward,OK is an excellent value and includes many amenities normally found in much higher priced facilities. The staff was very kind and Andrea made me feel right at home. DGT
