Even though we purchased the groupon rates for our room, I was still left very disappointed with our stay. The week prior to our trip, I called in advance to ask if they had a pool, what type it was, and if it was opened. I was assured that the pool was open. When we arrived on the 11th, we checked in and made our way up to our room. The room itself had very nice furniture, but the room itself was very outdated. The carpet was filthy, and so old and tattered that you could see clear through to the baseboards in places. The curtains were extremely dusty, and the air conditioning barely worked. We found ourselves staying in common areas to drink our coffee and eat our meals. Very disappointing since we were staying in an "upgraded" room. We didn't know that the pool was closed until we made our way down there. The staff didn't feel the need to disclose this upon check in. So we went to the front desk to ask about it, and I simply asked the attending manager, when the pool was closed, because I had specifically called in advance to make sure it was open. She then proceeded to ask me when I called, instead of telling me when it was closed. I only found out later that pool had indeed been closed when I called to confirm that they had a working pool. With our upgraded room, we were given access to the club floor, which was supposed to serve breakfast and evening beverages daily. Each day we were rushed out, and the second day, the bar attendant didn't arrive until 2 hours after it was supposed to open. They also subsequently closed the coffee area early the same night, and there was nowhere else in the hotel to buy a fresh cup of coffee. I've stayed at many hotels, and I was very disappointed, that even though I received a discounted rate on our rooms, that our stay was far less than leisurely. The most disappointing part is that the hotel itself is in a prime location for us. We like to travel to Tulsa from OKC to have fun weekends away, and a lot of the restaurants and venues we enjoy are within walking distance. We do understand that the hotel in under a transfer in ownership from another name, but it was very apparent that the main issue was staffing. The shuttle drivers were extremely kind and helpful, but the rest of the staff seemed like they were in the completely wrong industry. Hopefully these things will be addressed, because we would like to make the Hyatt Regency our regular stay when we're in town for a good time.
