“Cute, but small rooms and road noise”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

We stayed one night in the Route 66 suite and the adjoining Patty Page room. The rooms were relatively small (especially for the price), but the setup worked really well, with the sitting room between the two bedrooms making the whole thing feel quite livable. Each room is decorated in a very charming way. I'm not sure how sustainable it will be long term. The cute trashcan matching the Route 66 decor in the bathroom was broken, and there was mold starting to grow between the cute tiles in the shower. It's nice to have a small frig in the room and all the furniture was very comfortable. Night lights were also a nice touch I wish every hotel had.

I spent the afternoon working alone in the room and was really worried about the noise. The hallways have wood floors, so anyone walking down the hall makes a lot of noise. The ice and vending machines were across from our room as well. Since the rooms are right on top of 11th street (a fairly major street in Tulsa), I could also hear trucks going by all afternoon. The night we stayed the hallways were quiet, but the roadnoise, even over the loud heat/air unit in the room would've made it hard to sleep if we hadn't been exhausted.

If you are a TU alum, make sure to ask for the alumni discount.

I really hope this little hotel makes it, but I'm not sure we'll stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back side of the hotel will undoubtedly be quieter.

I'm sorry you were bothered by the street noise. It is louder on the Route 66 side. I guess that's part of being on the mother road. It is very close to TU, and we try very hard to make your stay comfortable. If you decide to try again, we would certain welcome you back, and work with you to reserve the best room for your needs. Thanks for staying. Barbara

My wife and I stopped here for one night whilst doing the Route 66 thing. We both loved the room and the decor was fab. The staff were great and very friendly and although there wasn't a restaurant, there was a service provided by a local company to get food delivered, which I had never come across before, and was quite impressed with. Overall, a really good stay and highly recommended

Glad you found us on Route 66. We not really the norm for the great highway, but there's nothing wrong with making something good even better. We love to meet all the people from all the other places and hear their stories. Hope you come back and see us again some time. And by then maybe we will have that restaurant. Travel safe. Barbara

We happened upon the Campbell because we wanted a place close to TU where our daughter attends. It's a cool, boutique hotel where each room has a different style. (It was decorated by designers for a show house ) All the rooms are tasteful and comfortable. The rooms have luxe furnishings, baths.. Some with showers, retro tubs, etc. The hotel sits on Route 66 and has historic photos throughout the hotel. They provide a continental breakfast , cereal, juice, coffee and donuts. A cute little bar is off the cozy lobby and they have a very nice spa/ beauty shop, too. I had a great manicure but saw good services while I was there. The staff are friendly and down to earth. If you are tired of same chain hotel offerings, come here! You will love it!

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper , ask for a room on the back or sides of property. I slept like a baby, b...

We are happy you were comfy and slept well. That's what we're all about. We hope to see you again when you come back to visit your daughter at the University of Tulsa. We've met a lot of fun people who come to visit their kids, since we are so close. See you next time. Go TU. Barbara

We are frequent visitors to Tulsa, as our son lives there. We really like the smaller, unique properties close in to Brookside. We really enjoyed the Campbell. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated. We had a refrigerator and microwave. It was, however, somewhat lacking in counter and table space, so if you are trying to work, there is not any good space to sit with a computer, other than on the bed. The king size bed was really comfy and the towels were large enough, thick and sweet smelling. (This may sound like a weird comment, but I really hate getting scratchy, postage stamp sized towels). The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful. We did not get toiletries restocked as promptly as i expected. I mentioned it to the front desk one morning, and it was done when we returned to the room. The housekeeping accidentally threw out our traveling wine glasses. When I asked about them, the staff actually went out and searched the trash can, washed the glasses after finding them and returned them to our room. Like I said, great personal service. Nice lounge downstairs also - friendly bar staff as well. TU parents ask for the TU rate - it is a great deal!

This hotel is close to where my kids live so I come to Tulsa often. This time I stayed in the Sky Suite. I think this is my favorite now. Large jetted tub, sky light, electric fireplace, large bathroom with great storage and a bed with luxury linens that you don't want to get out of!!! Can't wait to go again!!!

Great. Glad you stayed again. And that you enjoyed the "Sky Suite". It was picked #1 favorite by the thousands of people who toured during designer showcase 2011. Each room is special in its own way. Thanks again for staying, and please come back soon. Barbara

I'm a business traveler who's in and out of cities each week. I normally patronize the Hilton chain for the points value, but a friend of mine had recently taken over at this hotel as the sales manager, and I wanted to see her....so I decided to give The Campbell a try. What I thought I'd get: a cute room. What I actually got: A NEW HOME! I can't say enough good things, but here are the items that impacted my stay most: 1) the facility is amazingly renovated, but to know that 44 different interior designers made sure that each architectural element was historically correct was superb, 2) my room was gorgeous, but the luxury bedding and quality of the mattress and pillows was a huge plus, 3) let's hear it for an actual cast iron tub that holds a ton of water and stays hot for an hour, right ladies? 4) I accidentally ran into the OWNER 3 times in 3 days - that just never happens in a chain. Business travelers, this feels like you've stepped back into 1927. You can almost hear the Model T horns honking on Route 66. The ambiance gets 5 stars - the spa gets a perfect score, too, with the best manicurist I've ever seen and extremely reasonable prices. Stay here while you can!!! Route 66 is undergoing a revitalization and I fear the rest of the world will learn how amazing my Campbell is soon!!!

Room Tip: Ladies, the Rose Bowl room has a writing desk with a powerful lamp and a beveled mirror on a stand...

I would recommend staying in one of the rooms with a skylight! Excellent location for those visiting the University of Tulsa. Loved the uniqueness of each room and the downstairs bar. 10-minute drive to airport.
