“Historic Beauty & Excellent Service”
Reviewed December 6, 2013

We applaud the owners on restoring the historic Mayo Hotel. We seek out historic properties on our trips. The hotel is beautiful and gave us a glimpse into the luxury of a by-gone era. Loved the ballroom. The modern rooms were extremely comfortable and quiet and included walk-in showers, high-end bedding, a kitchen and numerous amenities.

The staff was courteous and helpful and we would like to especially thank Kaleigh. We had an extra valet parking charge and she graciously quickly corrected it. She was friendly and told us some details on the history of the hotel.

The Mayo is a gem, consider it for your trip to Tulsa.

Thank you very much for your kind words. I will be sure to pass your praises along to our owners. They worked tirelessly to restore the hotel back to its original splendor. There is certainly no other setting in Tulsa quite like the Chrystal Ballroom.

Kaleigh does a terrific job at the front desk and has a heart for service. Any member of our staff is more than happy to share the history of the Mayo for those who are interested. Thank you again. We hope to see you back at The Mayo soon!

What a beautifully remodeled(2009) hotel in the heart of downtown Tulsa and walking distance to the BOK center. The Mayo is perfection- larger rooms with suites and full-size kitchens with soaring views of downtown Tulsa. Highly recommend the Penthouse rooftop bar anytime of the year. My husband travels to Tulsa frequently and this is always our first choice. Jake and his staff, from the valet to the Trula restaurant are top notch all the way. We forgot our wine opener and they promptly brought one up to our room. We ordered champagne and had to rush off to a concert so they corked it and took it to our room refrigerator. The coffee bar, Topeca coffee has the most amazing blends of coffee. Enjoy the rooms, the architecture and the history of The Mayo- very impressive! Can't wait to return!!

Room Tip: During the week they do not have room service. I suggest bringing snacks since they have a refrigera...

Thank you so much for your loyalty to The Mayo. We love all of our guests but the ones that return again and again are truly special. I am thrilled that you enjoyed your suite and the view. I of course agree with you that our staff is top notch. They enjoy helping our guests with whatever may come up during their visit. Topeca is a great Tulsa business and we love sharing the space with them. Thanks again to both you and your husband for your continued loyalty to The Mayo. As much as you can’t wait to return, we can’t wait to see you!!

My wife and two young daughters stayed there in early Nov 2013.
Our room was large and extremely nice. The staff is excellent.
It really is an elegant hotel with adults in mind.

The room has a full size stove, refrig and dishwasher but no dishes, glass ware of any type. If you cant stock something as simple as a wine opener why have a kitchen. I would rather have a larger living room.

My other issue is there is No room service on weekends until 8:30 am. If you want a decent cup of coffee or anything to eat you are directed to walk two blocks away to a Starbucks.
If you like breakfast early you will be driving somewhere else.
This is not the place to stay if you have kids or like to wake up early.

Thank you for your review. I am glad that you and your family enjoyed the room and our staff. We welcome both families and corporate guests alike. We do offer a “Kitchen-In-A-Box” by request so that our guest can utilize the full kitchen. We also feature a weekend breakfast both Saturday and Sunday. Topeca Coffee Shop is locally owned coffee and offers pastries and sandwiches for both breakfast and lunch. You are more than welcome to contact me personally if you feel that we can cater more to your needs during your next visit. I hope that you and your family return to The Mayo soon!

What a beautiful hotel.....the elegance in the hotel is absolutely stunning. However, the customer service matches or exceeds the beauty of the hotel. We arrived at the hotel during a rain storm and were met at our vehicle with an umbrella for each passenger. The service was surperb during our entire stay! The beauty of the hotel brought us there, but the way we were treated will keep us coming back.

Stayed here for a one night stay before my flight out of Tulsa in the morning. This place was a great choice. The staff was friendly and it was very quiet. The attention to detail was spot on and everything was as it should be. I walked around and looked at all the things on the walls. There is a lot of history in this hotel. Very neat if you have time. I didn't experience the restaurant down stairs or the lounge on the roof but If I am in the area again I will be sure to stay here again and try them out. Definitely recommend staying here if you are in town.

On behalf of our entire staff, I would like to thank you for your business. I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed your short stay. Attention to detail is everything in the hospitality business; I am pleased you felt we achieved this. The history of the hotel is one of the qualities that set us apart from any other Tulsa hotel. We are always more than happy to answer questions about the history or gives tours for our guests. Trula is a great spot to grab a bite to eat. We recently released our winter dinner menu so I would definitely recommend that you stop in during your next visit. We hope to see you again soon!

Drove up from Houston for a Blake Shelton show at the BOK center and stayed at the Mayo. What a great experience! The staff was wonderful. Bell hops were knowledgeable about local bars and restaurants. Kaleigh at the front desk was awesome, catered to our every request.
The room was beautifully appointed and spacious. Would pay ten times the rate in Chicago or NYC for a room of this quality. Rooftop bar was a blast. Fun and friendly folks everywhere.
Bottom line, if you are in Tulsa and your not staying at the Mayo.....your camping out!

Thank you so much for visiting Tulsa and The Mayo Hotel for the Blake Shelton Concert. I know that our staff loves the liveliness of a concert night and I believe that our guests do too. We have a great front office staff. They are tremendous ambassadors for the hotel and the entire city. They are always happy to help you find whatever you may desire during your trip. The Penthouse Bar is a great place to visit before or after any concert at the BOK Center. Thanks again for your wonderful review. We hope both you and Blake visit Tulsa again soon!

The luxurious redo of the Mayo Hotel may be understated on the exterior but it is a pure delight for those that venture in and stay or dine at the historic site.
Great restoration, wonderfully decorated and accessorized rooms and outstanding dining.

Room Tip: You might want to avoid low floor rooms overlooking the alley if you wanting to sleep-in.

Thank you for your wonderful review. The Mayo Hotel truly is one of Tulsa’s most precious treasures and simply put could not be rebuilt as is today. The building was designed by architect, George Winkler, in the Sullivanesque style. The lobby, mezzanine and crystal ballroom were all meticulously restored as close as possible to match the original interior décor. The updated rooms and accessories create the perfect balance of modern and classic. I am thrilled that you enjoyed Trula as well. Our Chef de Cuisine, Marco Casteneda, along with Executive Chef Jeff Meldrum have put together one of the best fine dining menus in all of Tulsa. Please ask about our nightly special the next time you are back. Thank you again for the kind words. I hope your travels again bring you back to The Mayo Hotel.
