Whenever we have people visiting we take them to Gilcrease. Gilcrease provides one of the best examples of Western art and artifacts. Recommend the restaurant with it's floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Osage hills. excellent food

Well presented and very nice place but not really my cup of tea. Yanks would probably find it more interesting I suppose.

This museum offers one of the best collections of Native American art and western art around. It's hidden in the treed hills of northwest Tulsa (from downtown) and the setting with sculpture gardens is gorgeous. The building itself is a first-class example of contemporary deco architecture....also gorgeous. Everyone thinks to visit the Philbrook Museum here in Tulsa but I find that museum a bore (the collections) compared to the Gilcrease which is a shining example of what a museum can be. Also note that the museum shop offers Native American jewelry AND Native and western sculptures and artwork and crafts with a lot of choices in selection at reasonable prices. During the month of December they have sales on bronzes....check their website for dates and times.

Spent a fantastic day ambling slowly through the well lit and maintained halls. Exibits are carefully thought out and comfortably positioned to provide optimum lighting and ease of viewing. There is really some nice art in the collection. Visit. You'll enjoy yourself.
