We enjoyed our recent stay at Hootie Creek Bed & Breakfast as we road-tripped through SE Oklahoma. Built across from the old train depot (no longer there), this former hotel has been completely re-done as a B&B. In addition to spacious rooms, there are two common sitting areas upstairs, plus an outdoor deck on the north side of the building. And an additional covered deck downstairs with lots of shade. Inside, breakfast was served in the old lunch-counter style café space. Owners Carolyn and Essex did an amazing job of refurbishing this room, using old doors, vanity mirrors, and other recycled materials, and plenty of period arts and kitchen tools. And be sure to take home some of Carolyn and her sister's tasty jams, jellies, and salsas.
We will definitely stay again when our travels take us through Talihina.More
