We stayed here two nights over this past Memorial Day weekend while attending a high school reunion in the area. Our 2-bedroom, 2-bath suite was mostly clean and comfortable. The only complaint I had regarding this was that our daughter discovered candy wrappers and pretzels under her bed. The beds were comfortable and, thankfully, did not have bedspreads on them. I love it when they use just sheets and a washable sheet-wrapped comforter/blanket instead! Both bedrooms were well-sized and had good reading lights on both sides of the beds. The towels were clean and fluffy. The kitchen area was nicely outfitted with what we needed and the appliances were all clean. The living room area was very small and their chaise/sofa/bed not very comfortable. The views anywhere in this hotel are not very good, but we weren't needing views this trip. The hotel is surrounded by it's large parking lot, with apartment construction ongoing (but not that weekend) on one side; a car dealership and huge Walmart on another side and nothing much to look at worthwhile on the other two sides. My husband was not happy when he couldn't find a shady place outside to sit, except by their happy-but-noisy pool area . . . but he survived.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Our breakfast there was in a large, very nice lounge area by the reception desk. Many tables, a few large screen TVs and a few small, doorless, nice cubicles (my take on them) with upholstered banquettes, chairs and two small tables where families or small groups could eat or play games together. The food offerings were adequate, although we had to wait twice for flatware and then again for meats.

I was in Stillwater with my 2 sons and a friend, visiting the campus for a basketball tournament. When we booked the rooms, I didn't know it was a resident inn. The room was very large with a kitchen area with table and chairs, small living room area, separate bedroom with a door! Lots of space for all of us. Very clean, staff was very accommodating. Did I mention they had a patio and swimming pool? Very nice! The breakfast was yummy and the eggs actually tasted like eggs!!! Now, we were with a group who booked all the rooms together, so I'm not sure if the cheaper rate was because of that, or because we were there during the weekend instead of a week day. But it was a wonderful place to stay AND only 10 minutes from the rec center AND Eskimo Joe's!!

Room Tip: Try a Resident Inn for the weekend! Might get good rates for a very large accommodating room!

Everything was clean, quiet and lovely but there was some mix-up with the reservation we made a week in advance. When we came to claim it, the reservation had "never been made." The desk clerk claimed it did not exist until he was reminded that he was supposed to make the reservation and email us the confirmation number when we had made the reservation, a week in advance.

He hastily put us in another king room and said he would talk to the manager. At check-out time the manager had heard nothing about it and tried to make us pay more for the room we had been put into because the clerk made a mistake. He had told us he would fix it and thus neglected to quote a price. The manager eventually gave us the room we stayed in for the initial rate we agreed to but she tried to blame us for the clerk's negligence.

I would stay again, but only after making sure I got the confirmation number. Even though this is common sense, I wish we had been dealt with in a nicer way.

Front desk is cordial during check-in and there were fresh-baked cookies every evening (the strawberry & cheesecake were our favorite). Breakfast buffet is standard Residence Inn (liked the sausage hash, muffins, canadian bacon, even the scrambled eggs - the breakfast burritos & milk not so much). We ate one light supper there (chicken patty sandwiches) but ate the other meals elsewhere. Housekeeping did a wonderful job of cleaning rooms & keeping things stocked. I believe our room's carpets were scheduled to be cleaned soon. Internet service was great though tv reception seems to be problematic on some upper floors. Hotel is quietly located on outskirts & away from main traffic - think this is the best hotel to stay at in town!

Room Tip: higher floors had problem with tv reception though internet service was great

wonderful, clean, friendly staff. Will stay there again when I visit and I am very hard to please! Did have a problem with the ice maker running all night and it was very loud. Should have called front desk and let them fix it but didn't so my own fault.

My only regret is that I was only here one night! The staff was welcoming and accommodating, there was a happy hour that we were informed of when we arrived. The rooms were extremely large with two tv's and stove top, microwave and full size refrigerator. Nice lobby area with tv's and plenty of seating. Would highly recommend this hotel.
