“pleasant surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

We first reserved this hotel because we were taking a last minute trip and needed a room for one night. Most hotels in this area at that time required a minimum 2 night stay. We were very happy with the room and hotel staff. Everything was clean and the staff working the front desk was very friendly. The price was also very reasonable.Would stay here again.

We booked a room for 2 night stay friday and saturday nights. Friday Night a big group came back to the motel and were outside the several rooms beside us partying until after midnight which kept us up a couple hours. We also didnt care for the fact they kept walking in front of our room by the window like they were looking in. The next moring we woke and went to our truck and noticed the parking lot/bushes smelled funny and they had thrown some beer cans in our truck but we could deal with that. Night two they showed up after midnight and started partying again I dont even know how many were staying there at least 3 or 4 rooms by us we were on the end room. So they woke us again and were twice as loud as the first night then when we looked out to see what it was there were several people parked around and one was urinaiting in the parking lot refer back to earlier funky smells in the bushes and right in front of the room. So they don't have a person at the desk at night which is understandable for a small motel but we had to call the number of the motel not operator on the phone to finally get the Owner/Manager. We told him what was going on and he said he was off and gone and he wouldnt wake his other manager so we would have to call the cops if we wanted anybody to do something. He was a very rude person and wasn't able to process that if thier rooms were between us and the front desk that they might figure out who called the cops and our car was out front of our room and if they took it out on our car im sure it would been on our insurance. The room were pretty nice only saw a couple dead bugs in a corner.

We stay here at least 2x a year because it is very close to where my sister lives. We like the lodge feel. Across the street is a restaurant and a subway shop. Down the street, all within walking distance, is a small grocery store.

At times, if the lodge is full, you can hear noisy people, but since we stay there during the week, it is usually quiet.

After a very long drive from NM, I strongly encouraged my hubby to get off the highway and take the road less traveled toward nw AR. Driving north along Tenkiller Lake, road weary and desperate for a cozy place to rest, TripAdvisor saved us again. What a great resource.
Tenkiller Lodge is lovely. First and foremost, the ladies at the desk and cleaning staff were wonderful, Welcoming, kind, helpful, friendly, knowledgable and pet loving! Just what the Doctor ordered.
Our room was very Adirondackish, comfy, cozy and immaculate. The grounds were well maintained. I can imagine, lovely and family friendly in warmer weather. Spring flowering trees were beautiful.
Our four legged Son was very happy. Lots of space to run and frolick. The staff is obviously pet friendly. The adorable resident KITTY is a pleasant addition to the ambiance.
We couldn't have been more pleased with our experience.

We stayed at this lodge two evenings. As others have said, the front desk people were very friendly. The receptionist recommended a restaurant that was close by, which we were grateful for because it was getting late in the day and we were tired. I must say that our room was one of the cleanest motel rooms that we have ever stayed in. There was a bit of a noise problem our last night there. Our next-door neighbor must have had a few friends in for a drinking party because there was loud noise and laughing going on that made it hard to sleep. When we left the next morning there were about half a dozen Miller Lite cans sitting on the air-conditioning/heating unit outside the room next door. Aside from this little glitch, our stay at the lodge was a very pleasant one and we will stay here again on a return trip to the area.

Nice looking place and quiet setting. Mostly vacant, only 2 or 3 rooms rented. There was a man in the area who appeared drunk, was loudly cussing and swearing and seemed to be associated with the lodge somehow. Loud pounding noises like hammering on wood came through the wall at 2:00 am. Check-in process was difficult. Don't know what was going on here but plenty of red flags. Will not come back.
