I enjoy seeing the State Capitols whenever I visit a new state. OKC was an adventure. Lots of history & The War Vets Monument is wonderful. The children enjoyed it and I lived seeing the Jim Thorpe Building.

It was closed when me & my daughter went, but we walked around outside all by ourselves & it was very peaceful! The building is very beautiful! The grounds were very nicely kept & clean! Really enjoyed it!

The state capitol is one of the nation's nicest, and a great place to spend an hour or two. Whether you are by yourself or with others, you see wonderful examples of sculptures and paintings. You can go around by yourself or take a (free) guided tour.

Strongly recommended.

Having been to several of the capital buildings, this one falls amidst the better ones. The building itself is one of the larger capitals in the area. Filled with Indian artwork, it also does a great job reflecting its state's heritage. Probably the best thing about visiting this capital is that they have pamphlets for a self guided tour at the door. Even in Sunday's when the visitor center isn't open, these pamphlets are available.
