While back home in OKC my mom took me downtown for an event at the main library and beforehand we ate lunch at this eatery that initially opened in the 1920's. The walls are filled with OU football memorabilia including hand-made posters of the football season results from at least the 30's. There is always a chess game going on in the back and the rules of chess are hung on the wall nearby.

The service is quick and friendly and the food is reasonably priced. We all got traditional coneys with mustard and chili. They also offer a Frito pie and Greek spaghetti with chili. Cash only but when a coney is $1.30 that isn't usually a problem.

I tried the coneys and the chili. They are both delicious. I do recommend this if you are in Oklahoma City. The atmosphere is pretty cool too, nice and clean. Service was fine.

Yes, it's old and in a suspect part of town, but Coney Island OKC is worth the stop. It is not great by any means but is very good in terms of quality and value. They must be doing something right since they have been there since the Roaring '20's. The dogs are Schwab's and smallish reminding me a bit of the "Gagas" I've had in Rhode Island, but without the celery spice and sweet chili. The owners are Greek but the style of the chili is definately Okie style. Service is professional and the place although old, is clean. Man, you gotta get some here!

i loved the place. Most people would say a poor atmosphere but I found it very interesting to see the displays and posters of the past. The food was fresh delicious and very inexpensive. You can have a fun meal under $5!!! The best place in town for a light lunch or snack while walking around.

I am new to the Oklahoma City area and came across this place in the Arts district while doing some exploring in downtown OKC…my lucky day! If you are going to eat hot dogs, drink cold beer and are on a budget, this is the place for you. I had two tasty “Number 2s” (dogs with mustard, cheese, chili, and onions) and a cold bottle of beer for a measly $5.25 with tax. Plus…the counter person is a bit of a “character” and claims to have been serving there for 50 years! Priceless!
