I used to frequent the old Norman location and then the S.W. 74th store. Unfortunately both of these locations are now closed. They used to be my wife and mine favorite place to eat. So for our anniversary we decided to make the drive to the North side location. We weren't disappointed! The flavors were very vibrant, great presentation and good portions. The service was outstanding as well. We will definitely start making the drive a little more often as Pearls is worth the drive!

Our family really enjoyed our lunch at Pearls. The food was really good and reminded me of a visit to New Orleans. The seafood is fresh. Also, they have a really nice children's menu with lots of good choices. The service was also great. We will definitely be back.

The food was good. We had the calamari as well as the lobster bisque on this trip. The restaurant is very nice inside and the service was great. My biggest complaint was that the two of us were seated near two large groups of people and we were essentially unable to communicate all evening. This was disappointing as there were many other open tables and booths in other areas of the restaurant.

Last month, we dined at Pearl's Oyster Bar, which we found to offer a nice dining environment but only average seafood at best, not worthy of recommendation or a return visit.

During our meal, we first ordered Mahi Mahi, which was served blackened as was a special on the evening. This came with cilantro rice and two sides, of which broccoli and the garlic mashed potatoes were selected (US$20). The sides were fine and the fish was lacking in flavor, just tasting ok (rating 3 of 5), would try for something different on the menu next time.

We also tried the fried coconut shrimp, opting for the red beans and rice along with mashed potatoes (US$17). The red beans and rice were very good (rating 4 of 5) but we were disappointed with the coconut shrimp. The fried coconut and breading were well flavored but the shrimp were small and somewhat tasteless. Sadly, it seemed like we were mostly eating coconut shreds and breading, couldn't detect the shrimp much of the time (rating 2.25 of 5). In short, this dish didn't make the grade.

Overall, we enjoyed the dining ambience at Pearl's Oyster Bar but found the food lacking in taste and quality expected of better seafood restaurants. We left unconvinced about this restaurant.
