“Not Bricktown”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

This place is not in Bricktown so if you're looking for a hotel to stay in for a Thunder game or something, look elsewhere.

Its certainly not anything fancy, but the front desk was helpful and the rooms are clean but smell moldy. Its across the street from a truck stop so you'll hear 18 wheelers all night. Unreliable wake-up call service. It'll surely do in a pinch but shouldn't be your first choice when wanting to visit Bricktown.

This Quality Inn is somewhat run down. It looked nice on the outside and the public area was very nice but our room was somewhat small and showed quite a bit of wear. The soap dish in the shower was missing and the old rusty mount was left attached to the wall, the handles on the A/C unit were missing, some of the handles on the dresser were missing, there were not enough electrical outlets in the room to plug everything in luckily we had a multi-outlet extension cord, the walls have bad scratches and we did see one bug on the wall beside the bed in the morning. The neighborhood is very industrial so there are no restaurants nearby. Around 6:30 AM large trucks began rumble down the side street and stopping at the gas station across the street, you know how noisy they are when trying to accelerate.
On the good side the room and bathroom were clean. The motel is very convenient to I-35 and I-40. It is only about 2 miles to downtown and all the sports arenas. The breakfast was pretty good with a good selection.
All things considered I don't think they should have charged $55 a night for this room.

Room Tip: If you stay here ask for a room away from the gas station across Reno Ave it is a noisy place. Look...

Ive stayed at other Quality Inns/Suites so I know its not going to be fancy. I was surprised at how nice the furniture and room were, (very very pretty) but it did not distract us from the overwhelming MOLD smell in the room. We thought the room might just be stuffy from the humid weather, but the odor just got worse though out the night, it was nauseating. The evening desk staff wasn't very pleasant, the breakfast was average. I didn't feel safe in the area, a convenience store/truck stop is across the street and the on ramp to the free way is behind the property and another low (low low) end hotel on the same lot.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel

Lobby was very nice and the hotel staff was very courteous. The breakfast was good with sausage gravy and biscuits added to the extended continental breakfast. Our room was small but very clean. We had new towels and good shower pressure. There were a few seedy looking people out at the end of the parking lot. The main complaint we had was the VERY LOUD a/c. We were too tired to try and change rooms by the time we realized it. We got through most of the night with just the fan on.

We wanted to get a hotel in Bricktown, which this place falsely advertises that it is. We got the hotel through priceline, which said it was a hotel, but unfortunately, it was a motel. As we exited off the highway we saw that the hotel was across from a truck stop, not wonderful, but we could deal. Next we walk into the lobby and the man working the front desk was passed out, not just napping, but fully asleep, the security guard had to shake him to wake him up. He was friendly once awake and then gave us our keys. We drove around to our room and passed a pimp with his two prostitutes 20 feet from out room, not ones to get in the way of working people, we hurried into our room. Once inside, it smelled... BAD! We looked around the room a bit and it was dirty! Trying to make the best of it, as it was my boyfriends pre-deployment time off, we tried to ignore the grime, but it was really hard not to be worried about the smoke detector that had been covered with a nasty spit ball looking towel. Later we found an undesirable bug running around. This was definitely not how we imagined our few days before his 9 month deployment, but I guess that's the risk you take using Priceline... We will never use them again!

Room Tip: Find somewhere else!!!!

It's not a facility you would expect to carry a name of Quality Inn. This is just a bad-managed, bad-area motel with free breakfast. The Bricktown is really far away from that place.
Our room was just dirty. The reception area had not seen any improvements for decades. The staff was nice, but it didn't really matter considering everything else.

We stayed at the this hotel for 2 nights and our stay was not nearly as bad as some of the reviews. I agree that it's not in the best part of town, but then again it is very close to the downtown. We did see some shady characters in the parking lot, but it was comforting to know that the new management has hired a security firm to patrol the grounds. Once inside our room, the bed was very comfortable, room was clean and appeared to be newly renovated, the TV however could use an upgrade. The staff, from front desk to management to housekeepers was very friendly and professional. The price was very reasonable for the proximity to downtown. I will definatly stay here again the next time I am in town or traveling throug.
