Recommended length of visit: 1-2 hours
Owner description: The Myriad Botanical Gardens is one of Oklahoma City’s most beloved public spaces, offering its visitors a 15 acre natural escape in the very heart of the metro known as downtown Oklahoma City. A children’s garden, an off-leash dog park, the Park House restaurant, “splash fountains,” as well as paths for walking and jogging provide guests young and old with a place in which to find solitude with nature or seek community and the company of others. The Myriad Gardens provides an elegant backdrop for events both large and small, ranging from concerts at the Bandshell to intimate weddings in the Crystal Bridge Conservatory. Additionally, the Myriad Gardens offers a variety of horticultural education programs for adults and children. Classes range from story reading, making chocolate, wreath-making workshops to the annual Oklahoma Gardening School and more. Thanks to a multi-million dollar renovation partially funded by the city, as well as a general revitalized interest in a vibrant downtown, the Gardens quickly is becoming an integral symbol of the new Oklahoma City and those who call it home.

“Urban Park on steroids!!!”
Reviewed October 23, 2013 via mobile

This 17 acre garden in the shadow of a glass skyscraper is a great example of what cities can do to make urban living more enjoyable. We paid the admission fee to access the enclosed greenhouse with its replica of rainforest and some heated but drier climes. But that represents just a small piece of the garden and the rest of it is absolutely free. Third week in October and there were still some blooms outside but the space is lovely and a great place to wander and enjoy some natural beauty.

“I love this place.”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

It is beautiful to walk through and take in all the plant life. And the people there are educational without being pushy. I like to stop in after I get off work at 3:30. Sometimes I have the place to myself and I can just soak it all in. It's like taking an hour vacation in the middle of the week. I'm so proud Oklahoma City has a place like this. I recommend a yearly pass, well worth the money.

This is a very enjoyable and relaxing garden in the middle of the city. It offers a nice break from other activities in the area.

“OKC Downtown Garden”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

This is a garden and park area in the downtown of Oklahoma City, but my favorite part is the Crystal bridge which contains a totally encompassed tropical conservatory - full of orchids, butterflies, walks, bridges and interesting tropical botanical plants. Labels and information is throughout the Crystal Bridge, and they allow photography which is an excellent place to do some up close shots of exotic tropical plants.

We paid to explore the Crystal Bridge, which was gorgeous. However, for free you can also check out the outer gardens and the FANTASTIC play area for children. While I was there on a work trip I would love to return with my son!
