Owner description: The Myriad Botanical Gardens is one of Oklahoma City’s most beloved public spaces, offering its visitors a 15 acre natural escape in the very heart of the metro known as downtown Oklahoma City. A children’s garden, an off-leash dog park, the Park House restaurant, “splash fountains,” as well as paths for walking and jogging provide guests young and old with a place in which to find solitude with nature or seek community and the company of others. The Myriad Gardens provides an elegant backdrop for events both large and small, ranging from concerts at the Bandshell to intimate weddings in the Crystal Bridge Conservatory. Additionally, the Myriad Gardens offers a variety of horticultural education programs for adults and children. Classes range from story reading, making chocolate, wreath-making workshops to the annual Oklahoma Gardening School and more. Thanks to a multi-million dollar renovation partially funded by the city, as well as a general revitalized interest in a vibrant downtown, the Gardens quickly is becoming an integral symbol of the new Oklahoma City and those who call it home.

We caught this place on a day it happened to be free, but I believe the usual price is fairly cheap. It was a bit humid inside, but we loved walking around and the outside areas were gorgeous. Definitely bring your camera and get in some good pictures and enjoy a pleasant walk.

This was a gorgeous place, both inside and out. I loved the set up of the indoor gardens, allowing you to explore at ground level as well as climbing stairs to see other flowers and plants, as well as the waterfalls. The foliage and different flowers available to view were absolutely stunning. That said, I didn't feel the $7 was worth how small it is. Having grown up in Chicago, I was fortunate enough to visit the Chicago Botanic Garden, which has free admission for its 385 acres of gardens. So I suppose my mind is a little more biased when trying to justify spending $7 for the indoor section which really takes no longer than 15-20 minutes to explore, unless you prefer to sit on the benches and just hang out inside. The nice thing is that your admission gives you access throughout the day, so you can leave and return. The entire outdoor section is free, spacious, and beautiful. I would encourage anyone visiting or living in OKC to visit at least once. It really is quite beautiful.

Very scenic area to walk around and get a close up of the Devon building. Typically there isn't anything specific to do there, but sometimes there is Shakespeare in the park, music concerts, or ice skating in the winter.

This is a beautiful park with plenty of open space, waterfalls, and colorful plants. The amphitheatre is world class and the occasional movie in the park is a fun, family event.

So, the Crystal Bridge, the indoor part, isn't free, but, honestly, it's not as fun as the outside areas, anyway. I personally don't think the indoor part is large enough to justify the admission charge. The outdoor areas are really nice. There is a great playground for the kids. There is a water play that is upon during the summer. My kids love coming here. There is a large pond on the grounds with lots of ducks and koi to feed. There is a lot gong on during the summer here. There is a mid week market, movies on the lawn, Shakespeare in the Park, just to name a few.
