Owner description: The Myriad Botanical Gardens is one of Oklahoma City’s most beloved public spaces, offering its visitors a 15 acre natural escape in the very heart of the metro known as downtown Oklahoma City. A children’s garden, an off-leash dog park, the Park House restaurant, “splash fountains,” as well as paths for walking and jogging provide guests young and old with a place in which to find solitude with nature or seek community and the company of others. The Myriad Gardens provides an elegant backdrop for events both large and small, ranging from concerts at the Bandshell to intimate weddings in the Crystal Bridge Conservatory. Additionally, the Myriad Gardens offers a variety of horticultural education programs for adults and children. Classes range from story reading, making chocolate, wreath-making workshops to the annual Oklahoma Gardening School and more. Thanks to a multi-million dollar renovation partially funded by the city, as well as a general revitalized interest in a vibrant downtown, the Gardens quickly is becoming an integral symbol of the new Oklahoma City and those who call it home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our wander round these gorgeous gardens in brilliant sunshine. They were still trying to clean up after the tornado but all the staff were helpful and friendly.

We walked the grounds of Myriad this time and had such a nice morning stroll. We have been to the main building in the past and found it well worth a visit. At the very least, nice place to walk in Bricktown.

The botanical gardens really are a beautiful place to go and see. They have recently remodeled the grounds and the outside garden areas, which gives you a bit more to do when you go. I say this, because walking around the building on its own doesn't really take a lot of time and kind of leaves you with that "wanting-a-bit-more" feeling. Granted, the flowers and plants are beautiful, there are lots of lovely indoor water features, and it's really fun to walk across the bridge in the upper level, it just doesn't take a very long time to accomplish all of this. It would be really neat if one day they decided to incorporate some wildlife into this in the form of birds, fish, maybe some small mammals to make it more of a garden and zoo type of exhibit. If you have an hour or so to kill and want something neat and a little different, it's worth a try for sure.

What a great experience. A friend and I were sightseeing for a day and love to look at gardens. This one is exquisite. Do go inside the greenhouse and see the tropical plants... It is well kept and well done. Would definitely go there again.
