“Myriad Botanical Gardens - OK from the outside, not so much inside”

Recommended length of visit: 1-2 hours
Owner description: The Myriad Botanical Gardens is one of Oklahoma City’s most beloved public spaces, offering its visitors a 15 acre natural escape in the very heart of the metro known as downtown Oklahoma City. A children’s garden, an off-leash dog park, the Park House restaurant, “splash fountains,” as well as paths for walking and jogging provide guests young and old with a place in which to find solitude with nature or seek community and the company of others. The Myriad Gardens provides an elegant backdrop for events both large and small, ranging from concerts at the Bandshell to intimate weddings in the Crystal Bridge Conservatory. Additionally, the Myriad Gardens offers a variety of horticultural education programs for adults and children. Classes range from story reading, making chocolate, wreath-making workshops to the annual Oklahoma Gardening School and more. Thanks to a multi-million dollar renovation partially funded by the city, as well as a general revitalized interest in a vibrant downtown, the Gardens quickly is becoming an integral symbol of the new Oklahoma City and those who call it home.

“Myriad Botanical Gardens - OK from the outside, not so much inside”

Sure, it's a cool botanical tube but I wasn't that impressed with what's inside...save your admission money and use it for some of the other attractions in greater OKC.

“Enchanting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2012

The newly renovated gardens and grounds make this long-time Oklahoma City favorite an even more inviting place to go. The crystal gardens are well priced at $7 per adult. Our foreign exchange student spent two hours (!) taking photos of all the beautiful tropical flowers and unusual plants. There is always something new to discover and I never tire of taking visitors there.

“Beautiful collection”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2012

Lots of beautiful plants. Inexpensive $7 and a nice place to relax. The reason for the 4 rating was there just weren't enough benches to sit and enjoy. You had to keep moving. It is very interesting and worthwhile.

“Spend a Few Moments Enjoying Nature”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2012

I think this is totally worth the time and money. There's something about walking through a botanical garden that's relaxing. The waterfall provides some soothing background noise as you wander through various types of plant environments. And speaking of plants, there's an impressive array located here.

If you have kids, they'll probably enjoy walking across the skywalk to get some perspective from the treetops.

Once you're done with the garden, spend some time walking the grounds outside. They're very well kept and provide a nice place to sit and rest. There's a children's play area, too.

“Nice.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2012

I thought it was a bit expensive, but where else can you see such a wide variety of plants? Kids loved the children's area. Put Myriad Gardens on your list of things to see in OKC and I do not think you will regret the time spent.
