Very ultra-modern décor! Loved It! The room was just as nice, large flatscreen with amazing picture and heavenly bed. Hot breakfast and coffee was fine with me, the only thing didn't like was the usual problem I've had with LaQuinta is the work desk is next to the heat/ac unit, fan cant be shut off so it is either blowing hot air or cold air on you at all times while your at the desk. Alarm clocks have been removed from the rooms, not that I needed one but may be of interest to some people, front desk did say they could get me one if I wanted. The other problem I had was GPS does not match up with this address, I was a bit panicked traveling alone in the city as it was getting dark that I was lost but I did find it and the clerk said this has been a continual problem. Police were at the hotel next door when I arrived, made me wonder about the area but I did settle in and felt safe taking my dog out during the night. Great Atmosphere, friendly crew!
As stated in other reviews, this is a newer property. I checked in later at night and was warmly greeted by the front desk staff. My room was very spacious and clean. The hotel is conveniently located right off of the highway, yet, you don't get the highway noise.
I will definitely stay here is I need a place to stay around Muskogee!
The La Quinta Inn and Suites in Muskogee, OK is a new property - only open three months at the time of our stay. It has a very clean, modern vibe - different from most La Quintas I have seen. Upon our arrival there was no one in the lobby to help us. I used my cell phone to call the hotel number hoping it would alert the front desk person. It took two calls before the person came back from wherever they had been. Service was friendly and courteous. The rooms were very nice with a large flat screen TV, which was important to us on that night because we wanted to watch the Texas A&M Aggies BTHO Duke in the Chick-fil-A Bowl! Whoop!
There were a few little glitches which might be because the property was fairly new. The curtains in our room were extremely difficult to close. There seemed to be something wrong with the track on which the curtains were pulled. The usual bath amenities I would expect - like lotion, shower gel, conditioner - were not present.
Having stayed the night before in a different hotel chain, I was a bit disappointed in the La Quinta breakfast offerings. Coffee was dispensed from an automated machine and tasted AWFUL! I had to throw it away! The space was very clean, but it just didn't match up to other hotels.
There was no pool at the time of our stay...just a section of mud behind the hotel. There was also a water leak of some sort as we were leaving in the morning. The carpet in the hallway was saturated. There was some equipment that was sitting there but no signs to warn of wet floors.
Overall, it is a very nice property...new, clean, and modern. Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast did not suit my tastes at all.
