“Nothing Special”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

We were passing through McAlester and ask our desk clerk to recommend an Italian Restaurant. We found Gia Comos to have average food. The salad was dripping with oil and vinegar. Their sauce was good but the "family style" part of the meal consisted of 3 meatballs (there were 4 of us), some doughy ravioli and a plate of spaghetti. The large plates from the salad, meatballs etc. were never removed from the table so we were jockeying them around to make room for the entrees. The building needs an update - inside and out. Did I mention the prices? A little high for the product. I had the chicken parmesan, which was ok. Don't think I would return.

“This place is either on or off, can't tell you when to go.”
Reviewed July 3, 2013 via mobile

I have eaten here for years and some times it's great and some times it's terrible, tonight it was great. My salad was crisp not wilty and the bread was hot and soft not chewy or taste like it had set out all day. And for my steak it was perfect full of flavor and tender. It has been a year since last time we ate here and the steaks that time tasted bad and we didn't eat them and darn sure didn't want a doggy bag and the owner was called to table and owner thought there was nothing wrong with them. All I can say is its a crap shoot at this place maybe you will get lucky and pick a good night.

“Great sauce, steak and atmosphere!”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

Ordered the steak, and it was seasoned to perfection. It literally melted in my mouth! At first, this seemed a bit pricey, but the price included house salad, garlic bread, two homemade ravioli, spaghetti, meatballs, a relish plate, AND the steak. Two folks could easily order one plate, but we preferred to take some home and try more than one thing. The fettuccine was also great! The sauce for the spaghetti was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was romantic. Sure, the building is old, but it was clean and well kept. Then we tried the Turtle Cheesecake and coffee, and it was a winner too! Service was fine, and the food was excellent.

Although the place is dated, the food is good. There are 5 Italian restaurants in the area and Giacomo's has the best sauce.
