Imagine how wonderful it is to come to the end of the panhandle and find such a great place! And to be able to bring our dog was the icing on the cake. Try Vicky's prickly pear syrup on her blueberry pancakes. We did the Black Mesa hike and wore ourselves out. So glad to have another night to rest and stargaze.

Stayed at the rock house in town 9/24 thru 9/30. Had 6 clear nights of astronomy observing at Okie Tex Star Party and other places in the area! House was great, very comfortable bed and room downstairs. Great living room and great kitchen. Hated to leave the relaxing atmosphere of the beautiful Black Mesa country.

Words cannot begin to describe our experience here at Black Mesa!!! From the moment we walked in, we were with family... brothers & sister in Christ! And honestly we're not sure which we enjoyed more, our little Sunrise Cabin, or Vickie & Monty Joe!!!
The breakfast, even though we overslept and our hostess was so forgiving, was absolutely Amazing!!! We had the best tomato preserves made by Vickie herself!
We were able to have our devotions on our front deck, and enjoy the beautiful countryside!! My new husband, who is a hunter, spotted wild turkeys, which I enjoyed watching & listening to!
As we drove away from what we agreed was one of the most beautiful places in Oklahoma, we decided... We Will Be Back, to celebrate every anniversary God allows us to have with each other!!!
Thank you Vickie & Monty Joe, for an experience we will never forget, and will look forward to every year!!!
Love in Christ,

Our non-profit board of directors had their annual retreat here. There were 11 of us and we stayed a few days. The hospitality Monty Joe and Vicki showed to our board was unbelievable. We are more than grateful that they allowed us to fill their rooms and use their entire house for our various meetings and meals. It was a great place with lots of wide open space, things to explore nearby and amazing night sky. Cats and dogs treated us like family as well. It was a fun trip with friends.

Room Tip: A nice sitting porch and other outside places to relax, or work. No TV was a blessing. Has AT & T cell service.

We visited Black Mesa in order to hike the high point of Oklahoma. We were so pleased with the warm welcome by by the family, a beautiful and pristine little cabin, and, of course, an amazing breakfast. Lovely, lovely place.
