“Very nice hotel. Great staff!”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

Very nice hotel. Clean, roomy and a staff that goes above and beyond. We didn't hear any road noise and even though we were by the elevator, we never heard that either. Great place to stay! And great value for the money.

This hotel is located off of Interstate 35 in Edmond. It is surrounded by several restaurants and retail shops so everything is in driving distance. I had the pleasure to stay in one of their suites. WOW!! It was quiet, clean, nice and comfortable. Tub came with a jacuzzi and a little window so you could see the tv in the sitting area. WI-FI, friendly staff, outstanding breakfast and easy check-in and out. This was a wonderful find. Wish all hotels could be like this.

Room Tip: Staff will give excellent advice.

I don't usually stay at Fairfields and was not that familiar with them. I hope all of them are like this one. It was great, I am not good at names, but ALL of the staff working the front desk were so friendly and welcoming. Cookies were an added bonus. The bathroom was large with a very good shower that had good water pressure, which is hard to find. The sink/vanity in the bathroom was nice sized. There was an exhaust fan, which also most of the motels I have been in lately do not have. Towels were nice and thick. Spotless bathroom and room. LOVED the heat/air unit. I have to have white noise i.e. clean air machine, etc. to sleep well. I turned the wall control to ON....so It would run continuously and it was great!.....I did not hear ANY traffic noise at all, which worried me after reading one of the reviews. Microwave was great for heating up my cinnabon, loved the refrig., also.

Room Tip: I asked for a ground floor away from doors and ice maker. It was GREAT!

My husband and I spent 1 night @ this hotel and wished we could stay in town for another. The room was the biggest we saw in our 2 week vacation. The bed was comfortable and the whirlpool tub/walkin shower were just what the Dr ordered for a relaxing evening!! Breakfast was better variety than the other Fairfield Inns we stayed during our trip.

Room Tip: King Suite is worth the little extra $$

While checking out of the hotel and trying to maneuver too many things at once I dropped or laid down my iPad. We discovered it as missing 7 hours later and called the hotel. It had been turned in by a hotel employee and they had it ready to mail back to me. The night desk clerk and the assistant manager were both friendly and helpful and I am very grateful for the honesty of the employee who turned it in. I have lost nightgowns, eyeglasses and other items at hotels before and this is the first time I have had any luck in having them returned.
In addition the rooms were very clean, comfortable, attractive and had everything we needed plus. The beds were very inviting with wonderful comforters and cushy pillows.

This hotel is conveniently located off of I-35, but it is not so close that highway noise can be heard in the room. The hotel appears well maintained and clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. My only issue with the room was that the air conditioner was very, very noisy. During the night, it would run for about 5 minutes, then stop for about 15 minutes, then run again. It was so noisy that it woke us up many times. There was a wide variety of complimentary breakfast items available, and the lady working in this area was very friendly and helpful. My primary complaint with this hotel is the staff at the front desk. I was traveling with my sister who is a fed govt employee, so we were given a govt rate. When I made the reservation through the national Marriott number I informed them I was registered in the Marriott Rewards program and asked which name should be put on the reservation. They put my name on the reservation and said as long as my sister had govt ID we would get the quoted rate and I would receive points in the rewards program. Several days prior to making the trip I called Marriott to again confirm the reservation could be in my name and we could use the govt rate as my sister was staying in the same room. They assured me it was fine. When we checked in, the man at the front desk told us the room would need to be changed to my sister's name and I would not receive reward points or have this night count as a credit for a Marriott promotion I had signed up for. I told him I had checked with Marriott twice and had been told this would not be a problem. He told me Marriott's policy had recently changed, and it was no longer allowed. Before completing the reservation we called the national Marriott number and I explained the situation. For the third time they told me this was not an issue, that we could receive the govt rate as my sister was staying in the room and I could receive reward points. I asked her to explain this to the desk clerk, which she did. After he talked with this person, the man at the front desk became even more rude to us. He basically did not even speak again. He did not verify the dollar amount we would be charged (which we did not realize until later), did not tell us what room or floor we would be assigned (just pushed the key envelope in our direction), did not tell us the hours of comp breakfast, etc ... The staff at the front desk was not much better when we checked out. I told the lady I was checking out of room XXX, and her only response was a rushed "OK." I stay in quite a few hotels, and it is very rare when you do not hear even a quick "Thank you for staying here" during check in or check out. I definitely will not stay at this hotel again. Other than the noise from the air conditioner, the room was satisfactory, but the attitude and treatment from the front desk staff definitely ruined my impression of the entire hotel. There are much more friendly hotels in the Oklahoma City area to choose from.

It is the individual hotel policy, that the government employee must be registered in the hotel in order to use the government discount and they must be on work order. The stay was on the weekend and it was for leisure. Also, it is Marriott policy not the hotel that if the hotel room is not registered in the guest name that is on the Marriott Rewards account they do not get credit for the stay.

In conclusion, to get a government employee rate the room needs to be in the employee's name and they must also be the Marriott Rewards account holder to get credit for their stay. However, for this stay we did honor both the government rate and rewards points.

We do apologize for the inconveniences that occurred. We hope you understand the circumstances. We do appreciate your stay and hope to see you again.
