We decided to travel to choctaw to try out Old Germany we had been before but it had been a while and with our family being from Germany and planning our trip this fall we decided to take a trip there. We called and made reservations and when we arrived the remodel threw us off! it looks like a log cabin with a red metal roof and not german at all! It took 28 minuets to get drinks for 4 adults and 2 children the bread was good and we decided to order a pretzel however we were in for a surprise when it arrived you could tell that it was like the super soft brand like the kind you would get at the movie theatre with concession stand cheese.. NOT AUTHENTIC AT ALL! (Nothing like Royle Barviera) The goulash was pretty good probably the best thing we did have. Me and husband ordered the super gypsy for two. The salad had a lot of water in the bottom of the bowl and was tasted like a bag of salad. The steak was tough and very bland with way to much paprika to try to most likely cover the blandness of the steak. The server was ok she forgot a few things and to take my mothers drink order and then got the wrong beer. She brought us a water with lipstick on the glass from a previous customer. To top it off it was 90 degrees outside and 84 in the little room they put us in towards the back by the bathroom. We will NOT be going back! The price of the food is not
Worth it at all! I would recommend royle barviera which is a littler cheaper and way better!!

service was very friendly & helpful. I started w/smoked bratwurst and had schnitzel w/mushroom sauce. brat was unremarkable, but not bad. was served w/mustard. Salad had water in the bottom- needed to be better drained. So had mushroom soup that tasted good but had grease showing around the edges. turns out the soup also served as the sauce. Weird. The potato dumplings were gluey- not good.

I heard other people noting that they enjoyed their meal. Maybe the pork schnitzel is not the way to go.

2 hrs there. We were seated in 30 mins, waited ONE HOUR for food (which we received when the restaurant was closing), then had 30 mins to eat. Once food arrived it was bland. The porkchop was overcooked. Couldnt get my knife thru it.

Worth the drive way out to the boonies. What a wonderful surprise awaits. The waitress in traditional dress and a full menu. The good is most wonderful. I had three sausages that were well prepared with sour kraut and potato dumplings. You gotta try it.
