Recommended length of visit: More than 3 hours
Owner description: The Frank Phillips Ranch was founded in 1925 and the Woolaroc Museum had a humble beginning four years later in 1929. The 3,700 acre wildlife preserve is home to more than 30 varieties of native and exotic animals and birds. It is a working ranch that maintains the animals for the enjoyment of our guests in a natural, protected setting. The Woolaroc Museum presents one of the world's most unique collections of Western art and artifacts; Native American pottery, baskets, beads, blankets and cultural art; historical displays; and one of the most complete collections of Colt firearms. Guests can also tour the Lodge, which was used as a place for Frank Phillips to entertain his friends and maintain business relationships. The Lodge abounds with tales of the parties, business events and wilder goings-on.

“Informative, educational, great family venue”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

I live only a few miles from Woolaroc and have visited more times than I can remember. It is rich in history, well maintained and extremely interesting for all ages. In addition, the ranch is in a heavily wooded location where wildlife can roam naturally. When we have friends or family visiting I quickly recommend a visit to Woolaroc and so far no one has been disappointed. Be sure to bring a camera and good walking shoes.

“You Never Get Tired of Going to WOOLAROC”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

WOOLAROC (Woods Lakes and Rocks) is a wonderful destination for any visitor to NE Oklahoma. It is the former country estate of oil man Frank Phillips and a world-class museum and American Indian cultural center. The museum houses one of the most outstanding western art collections in the world and includes paintings by Frederic Remington and Charles Russell. There are thousands of cowboy and Indian artifacts, gun collections and an airplane that won the Dole Pineapple race. Buffalo, elk and white tail deer roam free on this 3,700 wild life preserve. Prairie dogs pop up to greet you and the walking trails among the trees and hills are well worth the time.

“A great family place. Lots of history, but not boring. A beautiful acreage as well. Eat a buffalo burger.”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

This is definitely a 10 out of 10 for excellent choices. Wildlife to see, western history,
art, gifts, and picnic places to eat. Lore about Indians in Oklahoma Territory, and a petting zoo for small children.
