I was back in Zanesville for a high school reunion and decided to check out this fairly new micro brewery. They have won numerous awards for the various beers they brew on site. I sampled the Scottish style beer which is a darker beer but not anywhere near a stout style. It was very favorable but probably too strong for those folks who are used to a lite beer.
For food selection, Weasel Boy makes their own pizzas on site. I had a “Carnivore” pizza with 4 types of meat. They used a wheat based crust with one of the beers they brew. It turns out to be a thin very crispy crust. Hence the crust does not rise like a standard flour crust. One of the meats was a very spicy Italian sausage – no need for any red peppers added! Probably too spicy for most tastes.
Service was good and the waitress was very friendly. They have live bands on Saturday nights and the first Friday of each month. More information on that on their web site: http://www.weaselboybrewing.com/
The atmosphere is pretty laid back with all the brewing vats open to display. There is a decent size bar to sit at, numerous tables and even a lounge area with couches and large upholstered chairs.
All in all, worth a visit to at least sample a beer. They do offer a sampler package of 10-12 small servings of their brews.
