“Worth seeking out”
Reviewed July 5, 2014

The restaurant has character, atmosphere, and very good food. The menu is eclectic with a couple of daily specials. The theme of Muddy's pays tribute to author and Zanesville native Zane Grey.

“Fun View, Friendly Staff, Tasty Food”
Reviewed June 20, 2014

A friend and I met in Zanesville recently for a few days as it was halfway between our current homes. We weren't sure what Zanesville had to offer, but it was convenient. Not only did we have fun exploring some local history and checking out some great antique spots, but we had a tasty lunch at Muddy Misers. We ordered fried dill pickles and bruschetta as appetizers and were not disappointed. The pickles were fried to perfection and the bruschetta was a bit of a "make your own" style with olives and gorgonzola. Both of our main courses were delicious, and we were glad we ordered half portions so we could split one dessert. ( I had the Po Boy, and it would definitely recommend it. ) From the yummy margaritas to the Mississippi Mud Brownie Desssert, we were glad we checked out it out. The staff was very friendly, and the view of the river was lovely. We're definitely heading back to Zanesville next year and Muddy Misers to do another meet up again.

“Great View, Tasty Food = Great Evening”
Reviewed June 11, 2014

The riverside patio may be one of the best in Ohio. You cannot hear the Muskingham flowing by but you sure can see it and it's a beauty.
Ever had a Walleye Reuben? It's pretty darn good. And the three cheese Mac 'n Cheese is seriously yummy! The place ain't fancy but it's worth the trip, just about wherever you are.

“Not as good as it should be, little value for the money”
Reviewed June 10, 2014

This place could be so much better. This is a follow up review. Small limited menu but they do run specials daily. Some interesting sounding items on the menu but even the excellent menu descriptions don't make up for bland and boring offerings (the walleye reuben sounds good but has not taste at all). Very pricey for the area and what you get, mostly a hang out for the well to do despite the bad neighborhood. Service is hit or miss but mostly misses. Seems to be sliding down hill in quality and # of food offerings since my last visit. Creative decor with an emphasis on Zane Gray and the Zanesville Area. I've been here for lunch and dinner and I think the only things on the menu worth getting are the fish & chips, fish sandwich and their salads with house made dressings (some). Fish appears to be frsh and not frozen but the beer batter could be a lot better than it is. Skip the frozen preformed burger, the steaks, the chicken and most of the entrees for a enjoyable experience. Super expensive drinks. Nice seating area along the river when the river is nice, but you can sometimes smell the river which is not so good.

“A very nice atmosphere”
Reviewed June 10, 2014

We enjoyed our dinner at this place. It was just a little crowded on the deck, but still was enjoyable. The service was great and the food was pretty good. I had heard about the walleye and tried it. For my taste, I thought it was bland, but still good. The crab cakes were good and the steaks were good.
