Fairfield Inn Zanesville

First, we were thankful to find a room on a night when everyone in America was traveling in OH and PA. This Fairfield was a pretty typical Fairfield Inn.

Good: Pretty clean, comfy bed, free wifi (no code needed - nice & easy!) The pool looked clean (although we didn't use it)

so-so: The parking lot was full - so full that we made up a space. I assume there is a plan, and the place was very full when we stayed.
Breakfast - the place was full: I checked about 3 times and there was no room at all. We skipped the breakfast & went to Cracker Barrel.
Friendly - the girl who checked us in was wonderful. The girl who checked us out was very blah...

The bad: Don't know if it was just our room (306) but the room was damp. It had to be the AC unit, but it was very strange. The room was plenty cool, but it was very, very humid.

We would definitely check other places, but if we had to stay there again, it would be OK...

We booked 5 nights through an agent in the UK. The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and quiet, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast included was fine. However, we thought that it was overpriced in relation to other places we stayed at.

Traveling cross country by car, stopped at a Fairfield about 40 miles east but they were booked and called to this one where they held a room for us as Marriott members. Smooth from check in to check out. Desk staff was pleasant, room was clean and quiet, we stay at Fairfield a lot when traveling with our daughter because it's a great value for the money. I would feel confident referring anyone to this Fairfield. We did not use pool but it looked clean and well maintained and breakfast was usual Fairfield food, adequate and better than McDonald's. Thanks to the staff for helping us when we were exhausted, both here and at the other one who helped us find a room!

I read a bad review and I think it was mistakenly given to this hotel because
This is a quiet hotel which goes out of its way to accomodate visitors. We were on a wedding weekend and we were treated with great courtesy. The hotel was clean and the free breakfast was good. The review I read was about a " bad bar nearby" and a"bad element" around the hotel. There is NO BAR anywhere near this hotel and fine people
were staying here.

We stopped here for the night while traveling from Virginia to Chicago. After a couple of attempts to stop earlier that were thwarted because places had only smoking rooms available, we pulled into the Farifield at about 2:00 a.m.

First the positives: the staff was very friendly even though it was late at night, and they gave us a great deal on the room. We stayed in a single king room, and it was pretty big in size. The free breakfast buffet was pretty good, although it didn't have a lot of very toddler-friendly options. The location was convenient to people traveling on I-70.

However, the entire hotel just seemed kind of dingy and run-down. As a whole, I would say that it is due for a renovation. The quality of the rooms, furniture, lighting, etc., just didn't meet up to the standards I associate with the Marriott family of hotels.

It was okay for a short night while on the road, but I would not want to make this a destination.

I spent one night in this small hotle. It has a great location for travellers and several nearby sit-down restauarnts (Olive Garden, Tumbleweeds, Cracker barrel, etc). It is the only marritoot I've stayed in where the desk followed up with a call to see if the room was okay and if I needed a wake up call. Small pool, no workout room. Free breakfast. So for a bursiness traveller this is a good stop.

Other reviewers have it about right--convenient location near I-70 and several chain restaurants, and less expensive than other nearby choices, but overpriced anyway for what you get. Furnishings are decent but rooms are small, staff is rednecky and not always helpful, the AC is really loud, and on one occasion I smelled smoke in my nonsmoking room, as if someone had been smoking in the hallway and had not been stopped. It is nice to have access to a computer, but it does not always work reliably. Bed was a bit soft for my taste and it had that cheap, loose kind of mattress pad that wrinkles under your body when you turn over in your sleep. Pool is too small for lap swimming but that is to be expected for most hotels. Breakfast is OK. Still, for ninety bucks we could have done better.
