When I heard the St. Paul was open in Wooster, I decided to try it instead of a larger chain. I'm very glad I did! The rooms are tastefully decorated (I stayed in the smallest room - a business queen-size). Priced at $125, I thought this was more than reasonable for the quality of the stay. If you are budget-conscious like me, it gives you a good taste of luxury at a decent price.
Upon my arrival, I was given a tour of the building, including some of the unoccupied rooms. Most of the woodwork is locally-done and the doors in some of the larger rooms were re-used from Freedlander's, a now-defunct local department store.
The room was quiet and comfortable. The bathrooms have heated tiles and rainwater showers. My only objection is that there were no built-in shelves in the shower; my room had shelves that were suctioned to the glass. I managed to knock them down, whoops!
Overall, the St. Paul Hotel is a great place to stay and a nice addition to downtown Wooster.
