I have stayed in quite a few bread and breakfasts all over the world. The Market Street Inn definitely ranks as one of the top picks for every reason --comfort , decor, location, service. The owners are so hospitable. Jayne is a wonderful cook and the historical landmark aspect of the Inn is quite interesting. I hope to go back sometime! The location is quite convenient to activities in Amish Country and also gives an opportunity to see some delightful countryside.

The Market Street Inn in Wooster, Ohio, is a restored Victorian bed and breakfast. The owners maintain the character of the Victorian Era with beautiful hardwood floors, two front parlors, and elegant central staircase lighted by a stained glass window at the landing. Additionally, the bedrooms (Bexley and Gilmour) were comfortable with suitable Victorian Water Closets (bathrooms). The delicious breakfast began with grilled pineapple and scones accompanied by juice and/or coffee or tea. The egg perched on top of a mushroom cream sauce in a ham basket was served with fresh asparagus and homegrown tomatoes from the kitchen garden. Following breakfast, the owners recommended various activities, such as the local farmer's market featuring Amish produce, as well as various routes of travel. This was a wonderful experience for a novice bed and breakfast traveler and one that is highly recommended.

The house is gorgeous! Beautifully maintained/restored and elegantly yet comfortably decorated. Allan and Jayne were friendly, gracious hosts, and they went out of their way to accommodate us. The food was delicious and beautifully presented.

The rooms and all of the Inn were magnificient. The food was beyond expectations and its presentation was beautiful, and, of course, delicious. We enjoyed visiting with our host and hostess who accomodated all of our needs. We were in walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and other venues.

We were attending the Hall of Fame festivities in Canton, ohio. It was about 30 minute easy drive to Canton. Well worth staying in Wooster. The owners Jane and Alan are fantastic hostsess/hosts. The pride they exhibit in running there property is second to none. Choose an inn like this versus a brass and glass cookie cutter hotel. They include a home made breakfast that changes day to day and it is just short of gourmet. The homemade scones are out of this world.....I would have paid for a to go bag! There were home made cookies evry day. The home is beautiful. Only five rooms, three with ensuite bathrooms. Toiletries provided. There are bars and restaruants within walking distance. You are close to Amish country, close to Hall of fame. The price is right for this oasis.
We had a great time. It was the most relaxing stay I have had in a long time.

The only criticism we have is that the furnishings in our otherwise lovely room were less than praactical for a traveller. There was virtually no surface where one could put something down, be it a suitcase to be unpacked, a book one had been reading in bed or a toiletries case in the bathroom. These are easy to fix and we hope that by the time we come back next year, they will have been fixed.

The home is beautiful. The room was charming. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was amazing. The innkeepers were hospitable and accommodating. The location is an easy walk to downtown Wooster and a quick drive to the College of Wooster campus (and the Ohio Light Opera.) I would recommend it highly.
