“Very nice experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2012

My son, wife and I were in town to visit the College of Wooster and found the Market Street Inn via a recommendation from the admissions person I spoke with at the college.

This was our first stay at a B&B and I'm sure it won't be the last. Jayne made us feel very much at home from the moment we met. She eased our son's apprehension, assuring him that the Inn was, in fact, NOT haunted! :) (It was a very dark, rainy night when we arrived) And I can personally attest that no ghosts were spotted during our stay. lol

Our room was very nice with plenty of room for the three of us. (Alan and/ or Jayne added a small bed for our son - thank you, by the way) The queen bed was very comfortable and everything in the room was spotless. The private bath was also quite spacious.

The breakfast, as everyone else has attested, was delicious! The highlight for this guy was the scone - mmmmmmm... Did I mention the coffee and tea outside our room at 8 am? Nice touch.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend this Inn to anyone needing a place to rest their weary heads while in the nice little town of Wooster. Thanks, Jayne and Alan, for sharing your home with us.

This was our second stay at Market Street Inn. The Inn is clean and well cared for. Alan and Jayne made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in the door. The breakfasts were second to none! The Inn is conviently located within walking distance to several very good restaurants and a short drive to shopping and Amish country. We are already looking forward to our next stay.

We stayed at the Market Street Inn on November 11, 2011 - and it was wonderful. Everything about the Inn is delightful. It was like staying in a castle! The attention to detail is luxurious - including the home-made cookies near the stairway, early morning tea and coffee, and a fantastic breakfast! The location near town is a bonus, too. The hosts are helpful and at the same time, not intrusive. We highly recommend the Market Street Inn.

Had opportunity to stay at Market Street Inn on 10-21-11 and enjoyed the welcoming hosts (Allan and Jayne) conversation, the beautifully restored inn, and the great breakfast served in the morning with fresh baked scones and waffles.
While not specific to the inn itself, the inn has has the added benefit of being a short walk from two very nice restaurants in the downtown Wooster area - Market Street Bistro and City Square Steakhouse as well as a great wine bar / wine shop (SoMar), antique shops, and a very nice food, wine, cooking supplies market (Spoon Market). These businesses make for a nice trip including great dining and shopping. (Some B&B's I've stayed in are located in a "restaurant desert" and the added benefit of dining at some very nice restaurants make Market Street Inn a very nice weekend getaway for those who especially appreciate a nice dining experience during their getaway. )
Market Street Bistro has an EXCELENT seasonal-based menu based on what's available to the restaurant from local area Ohio farms. If you appreciate locavore-based dining you won't be disappointed. City Square is a more traditional steakhouse serving steaks in a lively atmosphere (bar area) and very attractive decor similar to Hyde Park restaurants. SoMar can offer a great wine shop list to buy from as well as a more casual entertainment (weekend music) and dining option (SoMar allows visitors to bring in food from the close-by restaurants and Spoon Market to enjoy with a wine purchase at the inside or outside fireplaces).
All in all, while the B&B is reason enough to visit Wooster, the added dining and shopping make for a very nice weekend food and wine getaway.

I stayed at Market Street Inn while on a business trip. jayne and Allen made accomodations for my need to leave by 7:30 in the morning and served the business guests at 7:00 without sacrificing the quality of the Inn beakfast. The rooms are generous an dnicely appointed and there is a great deal of common area to enjoy, as well.

One of the most relaxing experiences in years while in the friendly town of Wooster, Ohio. Simply can't say enough good things about our stay at Market Streen Inn B&B. Allan and Jayne were absolutely wonderful hosts who went far and beyond any expectations we may have had to make us feel welcome and relaxed. Little things like fresh made pumpkin cookies and coffee set the atmosphere immediately. We will miss the pumpkin pancakes, ham cups (amazing), fresh fruit, chocolate chip scones and their own special homemade granola for breakfast.
The house is as beautiful and intriguing inside as it is outside. Wonderully restored and decorated from the gorgeous foyer to the spacious and beautiful bedrooms. You can't help but feel like you have stepped back in time but still with all the modern touches....even wi-fi! Shops and restaurants are all within two blocks right down Market street which might at well be Main street. Make sure and stop by South Market Bistro for dinner.
Did we mention that you are a short drive to Amish country and only a 50 minute drive to Cleveland and the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame? One thing that my wife and both said as we packed to return home. We will be back and make this B&B part of an annual family experience. Lee C

My husband and I stayed at the Market Street Inn while visiting The College of Wooster. Jayne and Allan were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome. They served a truly amazing breakfast of smoked cheddar scones, yogurt and local peaches topped with homemade granola and french toast drizzled with a berry compote accompanied by a side of baked caramelized bacon. Absolutely delicious! The inn is full of charm, tastefully decorated and thoughtfully appointed. We stayed in the Lydian, which is a small, but comfortable room with a private bath. We will definitely return for future Wooster visits, and highly recommend the inn to other travelers.
