Every Autumn, my mom and I have a "mother/daughter" weekend in Ohio. We have visited The Amish Door Inn restaurant and shops in previous years, but this is the first time we stayed at the Inn. We will never stay elsewhere. We loved the hotel. It was beautiful, the service was good, friendly staff and the room was very clean. The restaurant and bakery adjacent to the Inn are amazing.

We booked the deluxe queen room. Our room had two queen beds, kitchenette, living room area and jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. The mini-fridge was stocked with beverages, and we also had a small coffee make with complimentary coffee. The view from our bay windows was spectacular. The countryside is gorgeous. We took some time to enjoy the indoor pool and hot tub, which had a great view of the countryside.

The location of the hotel is perfect. We were close to all of our favorite shopping areas. We were about 20 minutes from Walnut Creek and Berlin.

If you are planning a trip to Amish Ohio, please consider this hotel. If you have any specific questions about it, feel free to ask me!

To Whom it may concern,

Just wanted to let you know how disappointed my husband and i were when we stayed at your hotel. wecame up on fourth of July and stay the night, and were going to stay another night but,the second night we found bugs in our bed and ended up leaving the second night,Up until now we have had a wonderful stay for many times, if fact it is where my husband took me for Valentines Day when we first met, so your Hotel has held a very special place in my heart until now. I am not sure i will feel comfortable staying the night again. To bad because it is truley a beautiful Hotel.

We would like to offer our apologies for your stay that turned out unpleasant. This is the first report we have ever had of this type, and we certainly hope it is the last. We strive for excellence here and we want to do our best to accomodate everyone that stays here.

Our housekeeping staff personally inspects each room and bed thoroughly every day, and had they found anything concerning, we would have immediately found another room for you to stay in before your check-in. It is possible for pests to be unknowingly carried in on luggage or other items, which is what we think might have happened, but whatever caused the problem, we hope we can earn your trust in us again.

Sincerely,

Ty Mullet, Manager

The Inn at Amish Door is the best place to stay if you are visting any of the attractions around Holmes County. Very nice views of the country side, nice rooms and you are virtually close to everything. They have the restaurant right next door which has THEE best fried chicken ever. We have stayed at this hotel for the last 3-4 years in visting Holmes County and would not want to stay anywhere else.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights and enjoyed it immensely. The area is in the heart of Ohio's Amish country and is gorgeous, peaceful and quiet. With winding roads, wooded hills and farms on hills and valleys, it's no wonder this is a popular tourist area in summer. Lots of antique stores, gift stores, cheese factories, furniture factories and stores...if that's your thing, you won't be bored.

As for the hotel, it was beautiful, quaint, luxurious, simple, quiet--all at the same time. The hotel staff was helpful, and breakfast was included, consisting of doughnuts, bagels, cereal, yogurt, waffles, fruit, coffee and juice. The food in the adjacent restaurant is good home cooking, and there is also a bakery onsite, as well as a store and gift shop. Price-wise, it may be a little more than a Comfort Inn, but there's no comparison to the atmosphere and the feeling that you're staying somewhere special. Highly recommended.

[-]Yes, we stayed there for 2 nights and it was a very nice Hotel. It is a hard Hotel to get reservations at though, Like I said, we stayed 2 nights but we had to change our room after the first night because the room we were in on Friday night was 1 of the suites they have and it was already reserved for Saturday so we had to move to a regular room for our Saturday stay. If you decide to ever stay at this Hotel ask for a room far away from the elevator. (It is very noisey and you can here it in your room if you're close to it.)
The only other thing is the price is a little high, it cost us over $300 dollars for 2 nights and 1 of those nights was just a regular room which was very noisey. (By the elevator and 1 of the housekeeping store rooms with slamming doors, Room 101.)
The only other thing we didn't like was if you are going to be there on Sunday there is nowhere to eat, their restaurant is not open on Sunday as well as all the other restaurants in the area because most are Amish. We had to wait until we got back to Interstate 77 to find a place to eat.
There are plenty of things to keep you busy in the area. Most of the activities are in Walnut Creek and Sugar Creek.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give the Hotel at least an 8 and probably a 9.
