“Nice renovation of a motor inn makes a good value”
Reviewed August 10, 2012

The era of motel rooms opening directly to the outdoors has passed. Most of them are dumps which rent by the week or month to marginal tenants. This former motel is a nice exception. The owners did a nice job of assuring that the beds, baths and TVs are up to date. It is comfortable, located near food and shopping (at Crocker Park) and a great value. It is the only hotel I have yet seen with a drive-through check in, which is a surprisingly nice convenience. A hotel is a place to crash, and this fits the bill very well.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the first floor -- no elevators.

I was very dissatisfied with this hotel. All of the employees were very rude and selfish when it came to helping customers. Upon leaving the hotel, myself and the rest of the people who stayed with me were broken out in bed bug bites all over our legs. We tried requesting a refund for the terrible conditions of the room and we were very rudely denied. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family. It was the worst hotel experience I have ever encountered. The pictures online of the hotel are also very misleading. It is practically a dump! Save your money and find a clean hotel with employees who actually know how to treat their customers.

Room Tip: There are plenty of nice hotels a couple miles down the road from this not so Super 8.

We found this hotel by accident when we were getting off I-90 to look for gas. It is very attractive outside, so much so that we wondered whether Super 8 had taken it over from another chain. The lobby and breakfast room were more attractive and better decorated than most Super 8s too. It also had a drive-up window to make reservations, which was interesting. We got a room without a reservation and the total cost was $58 including tax, much less than what we were expecting to pay. The hotel even has a nice, clean (if small) swimming pool. The room itself was more like Super 8 quality; worn but clean. There were also some over-served guests (we think they were construction workers) celebrating in the parking lot but nothing dangerous. There are a number of good restaurants within walking distance on the frontage road next to the hotel, including Outback, Carabbas and a sports bar. Be aware that most of them close at 10pm, so they may not be open if you get in late. The breakfast buffet is a little more expansive for a hotel of this price point, including fresh fruit and hot waffles. Good value for the money and a good location.

This is a budget motel. It is quite clean, although when we were there they were short of housekeepers and the rooms were sometimes not refreshed until late in the day. (They were advertising for help.) The air conditioning (we were there in a near 100-degree heat wave) was excellent. The beds were not bad, although the pillows are a bit flat. The sink is outside a small room that contains the toilet and bath, so it is quite un-private, if that matters. There was only one chair, and the only table was probably not going to last much longer.

There is WiFi, although it was spotty for at least a day, which was irritating. And the phones and cable went out once. Both of these may have been attributable to the heat wave.

There's an outdoor pool which kids love. The place is close to a great many restaurants of varying prices. And it's close to I90 (and no, we heard no highway noise).

We stayed there because we were part of a small family reunion, we wanted to be together, and some of us were on tighter budgets than others. It was fine for our purposes. My husband and I would not stay there again except in similar circumstances. But it is a HUGE bargain compared with the other places nearby and well worth it if one is keeping a tight budget.

Spent one night here on our way home from a trip. The pluses: Easy access off 90, friendly desk people, OK beds and shower, no road noise. Did not use the pool but it looked decent. The minuses: Room is shabby (ragged carpet, cracked sink, broken towel rack), could hear people talking & walking around upstairs, room was dusty, breakfast was weak. (We went to McDonald's - that's how bad the breakfast was.) For the price, the room was a good value for just passing through. For more than one night, however, I would look elsewhere.

Booked online for two nights as we were visiting Cleveland for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Location is just off I-90 and convenient for access to Cleveland. We didn't want to stop downtown as uncertain of which neighborhoods to avoid and I feel this was a good compromise.
On arrival, a friendly and efficient check-in with Nicole. We hadn't been in the room long and we had a courtesy phone call from reception to check if the room was satisfactory - the safe was locked so a promise that this would be resolved was followed quickly by a visit from the maintenance man. The room itself was clean and functional although it looks as if it will soon be due for refurbishment. Bed linen clean and additional towels were provided at no cost when we called in at reception later that afternoon. Bed was comfortable.

Advertised with an outdoor pool but this was closed. Did try the breakfast on the second morning, but as this is complimentary It was very basic as expected.

Some excellent bars and restaurants within walking distance. Enjoyed a meal at the Outback steakhouse followed by live music and a good selection of beers at the Boneyard Bar.

We plan to visit Cleveland again and would be quite happy to stay here.

Room Tip: All rooms have outside doors - ask for a ground floor room if you want a parking space outside.

We went with our 4 kids over our long weekend. From our arrival at Super 8 till our departure after our 2 night stay, we were extremely satisfied. The staff were very helpful, friendly & cheerful. The breakfast was sumptuous.
Even though this hotel is just off the highway, we weren't troubled with the noise at all.
For the price, one cannot go wrong.

Room Tip: We would go back, if visiting Cleveland.
