We were out for a random motorcycle ride on this particular day...actually looking for the giant loaf of bread at the bread factory. "Silly photo op!"

Anyway, had heard about The Farmers Daughter having great pie. We wandered that way and after staring at the long list yummy pies to choose from, we decided on two slices to go.

Found a nice spot down the road to grab some coffee and sit outside and share our "pie". It's worth the stop and really friendly staff. Let them know you need a fork to eat elsewhere. They are happy to accommodate. Also, the breakfast is supposed to be pretty good.

Enjoy!!

Oh! We did find the giant loaf of bread.

Simply put, they have really good food and great service. It is obvious when you get your food that it did not come from a can and is freshly (home) made. It is of great quality and just tastes really good. The service was friendly and impeccable. If you are in the area, this is the place to go. The decorations are simple, it's not a fancy place, but it is clean, bright and friendly.

First visit....and it was wonderful! We'll certainly be returning here for breakfast. Bright, clean and friendly atmosphere. Small town charm, which we love. Service was excellent. And the food....if you walk away hungry, it's your own fault! Presentation of the breakfast was wonderful. There's not one thing we would change.

We have just spent a few days with a friend who lives just outside of Urbana, and we actually ate here twice. We decided to go back for breakfast/brunch this morning on our way back to the airport in Dayton. We were not disappointed. This place has the small town charm and hospitality that is hard to find in a large metropolis like Atlanta. The wait staff were so nice and fun to talk to! The service was prompt and friendly. The food was tasty and obviously freshly cooked. If you go there, please realize that this is not a fast food joint. It is a Mom and Pop, small town, fresh cooked meal place. Oh, also, the portions are definitely generous! There were 3 of us who ate there for dinner the first time and had 3 different meals and none of us had any complaints. I had a bowl of French Onion Soup and a Garden Salad. Both were fresh and tasty, and the salad was fresh, cold and crisp. This morning I had the Biscuit and Gravy with a bowl of Grits. (can you tell I am from the South?!) Both were very good, not outstanding, but absolutely well within expectations. The most important part was that everything was fresh, hot and homemade. My Gary and our friend, Tom, had the "Hog Log", which was ridiculously huge. It is a flour tortilla wrapped around egg, bacon, ham and sausage, topped with grated cheese and sausage gravy. I seriously think that thing probably weighs in at around a pound!!
I also have to mention that my mouth was watering for one of their enormous cinnamon rolls topped with heaps of icing...sadly, there was no way I had room for another bite after my meal. They also have fresh baked pies and cakes that look yummy as well. OH!!!! The other night after dinner, we shared one of their Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookies that is topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce and whipped cream. They spread the cookie dough in a small cast iron skillet and bake it, then after it is baked, they pull it out of the oven and add the ice cream and other stuff. O.M.G......it is decadent!!!! You really gotta' try it!!! If you are looking for a fresh cooked meal and friendly service, I would definitely recommend you give The Farmer's Daughter a try!!

The portions a nice size and everything tastes delicious. They have a little shop that sells relishes and pickles. The services is great and the environment is friendly. Even local farmers and residents frequent the restaurant often.
