I have been a steady customer of El Sombrero's since they first opened in Troy in the early 90s. Their food is always tasty and the service is great. The owner opens his heart and restaurant to the needy on Thansgiving day with free meals which is worthy of note.

The chips are delicious! One of the only places I know to get flautas...and they are excellent. Choice of bean on refried beans from black to pinto. The sangria is wonderful. I have never been disappointed with the food here, it is always worth the drive.

A very colorful Mexican Restaurant just outside of Troy. The wait staff tries to please, however, the food is just average. Great menu, but needs a little bit more for me to come back again.

We eat here regularly, though we travel about 30 miles for the pleasure. From salsa to tortillas to entrees and drinks, this family-operated restaurant is really good food. Be prepared to notice a difference when you open the menu and DON'T see the standard array of tacos and enchiladas (and not much else). Instead enjoy specialties like Pollo al la Creme or Talapia and plenty of refills of homemade salsa. And the prices are just right, too.
