Visited Sunday 13th April for Dad's 90th birthday lunch. Party of 13 in Regent Room. excellent room with airy pleasant feel. Had set lunch at £21.00 for main and desert. All choices of beef, pork , and salmon tried in the group. I had beef, tender but very rare. good veg, carrots, green beans, cauliflower, and calibrise , roast spuds, Yorkshire pud, and sweet red cabbage with tasty dark gravy, yumm. Chocolate tart ok in center but pastry shell tough, some where not eaten!. Entry wine pleasant and reasonable price @ £19.50 bottle, red and white.

Friendly accommodating staff gave great service. our second time for a family Sunday lunch celebration and no reason why we will not return. keep up the good work. recommended.

Had a private room with 20 friends and all enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
Went again a couple of weeks later with just five of us and ate in the main restaurant and again had an excellent meal. It was odd that we were initially shown into the room where we had had a private dinner and it had been converted back into a cosy lounge for pre dinner drinks

Very enjoyable lunch with friends. Pub grub this is not. Linen cloth and napkins. Pre dinner lounge. Very pleasant dining room and polite service. Good menu, and no complaints.
Costs a bit more than a country pub, but you get what you pay for.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch, it's in nice surroundings and the staff are very friendly, the food could be exceptional but the chef is trying too hard, leave the staranise out of the red cabbage - not pleasant :-(
