Radisson at The University of Toledo

Although the decor on this newer hotel was good, the desk staff was curt, unsympathetic and stand-offish. Smiles were nowhere to be found except on the dining room staff: the Asian man during the morning buffet was kind and attentive. The pool layout was great and inviting, but its stucco was peeling and black mold grew on the pool deck. Our beds were clean and comfortable, but double beds were too small for a family of four. Having inquired about suites at the front desk we were dismissed, saying they only had four and they only had king size beds. No options were presented and desk staff chose not to pursue how to accommodate our obvious desire for a larger space. No one asked if we wished for bell service, nor did they point out where the hotel's different amenities were located. I am extremely disappointed with the Toledo Hilton. When I pay a certain amount I expect commensurate service.

I had read some of the reviews for this Hilton after I had booked a non-refundable stay, so I wasn't sure what I was getting in to. By comparison, this Hilton is an older property, and is located next to the University medical center. The elevators ARE very slow, and the decor is a bit plain. If you are coming on business or a short stay, the hotel is fine. Unfortunately, there are a couple of items that give me immediate pause when in a hotel room, so if these bother you...you may want to seek another location. The bathroom shower curtain had a very mildewy smell. I cannot excuse this, as it is an inexpensive fix to make a guest's stay much more pleasant. The air conditioner also emitted a sewer-type odor - not bad enough for me to complain, but it was unpleasant. My other discouragement was the lack of electrical outlets - one on the lamp, and two in the bathroom were all I could find. Otherwise, my stay was fine and the amenities were pleasant. The room included a mini-fridge and a microwave. The location is good, with several restaurants within a short driving distance, as well as a grocery store and Wal-Mart. A short drive to downtown - next time, we would stay closer to the convention center.

We were in town for the marathon and stayed here. The setting was great and easy to find with resturants etc. close by. We recommend this place as there's nothing bad to point out!

This hotel meets the BARE MINIMUM that a business traveler would expect: everything physically function (hot water runs, lights turn on, no bed bugs or cockroaches), room service exists. However, it is not even above average in any aspect -- furniture is outdated (good luck if you're even on the 4th floor -- elevator takes about 30 seconds on every floor even if you're the only one in the elevator), internet is slow, room service is INCOMPETENT (did not pick up the first 2 nights I was there and had to go downstairs to place my order), lighting is dim.... oh I could go on. Too bad there are no better alternatives if you have the misfortune of having to travel to Toledo.

I have stayed in this hotel many times driving through this area from Minnesota to Pennsylvania to visit our son in college. This is where we usually stay. It is one of the least costly Hilton hotels. The area is super quiet around the U of Toledo health science college. The rooms and bedding are comfortable. There is a pool and exercise equipment. The restaurant is surprisingly excellent and the breakfast buffet is very good at $8.95. Guests receive a coupon for a free drink at the restaurant. I cannot say more about how much we have enjoyed our passing through stay at this lovely place. Service has always been attentive. Our son graduated now so we probably won't be driving through here much any more. It is off I-90 about 7 minutes but worth it. After a drive, having a good restaurant at the end of the day is a plus.

Cleanliness and comfort is important to me when staying at a hotel. This hotel was not only clean and fresh smelling the beds were awesome and staff was very friendly. A very pleasant stay. Also one of the most quiet hotels. Only drawback was the heater kicking on all the time.

Room Tip: Cheaper on walk in than on the internet ...$7 less

Nothing really exceptional. It's a full service Hilton hotel with bar and restaurant, swimming pool, hot tub, good fitness center. I didn't try the restaurant except for breakfast. It was fine. This hotel is quite acceptable especially if on business. Not really a great family location and nothing nearby that you can walk to. Great swimming pool for the kids though and decent hot tub or whirlpool in the pool area. Rooms are adequate. Not a bad deal for the money but most suitable for business I think.
