Not a bad spot but very dead for a sat evening (around 7:30 PM), 3 other couples where there. guacamole made at table was amazing! Food a bit plain, but not bad. Decent prices. 4 Mexican beers in a bucket of ice for $12. Great view of river! There are certainly more authentic choices nearby – this is always a safe bet.

“Muy Bueno!”
Reviewed December 3, 2012 via mobile

It's so nice to find a good, authentic Mexican restaurant. Tex-Mex is okay, but real Mexican has a spicier, zestier flavor. The salsa served with the chips here was fresh, tangy and had a nice bit of heat. I ordered "Camarones ala diablo". What a burst of flavor the sauce to this dish had. Spicy heat that made your tongue tingle, and a flavor that was unlike anything tex-mex. the whole meal was only $17 and worth every penny!

“Yum Yummers!”
Reviewed October 22, 2012 via mobile

No tex~mex here! Truly authentic, delicious, piping hot,....we ordered the chimicanga's and carnitas and the burrito all delicious. They were generous with the salsa and chips which were also fresh and delicious. Thank you for the great meal and exceptional service.

“Visited the Riverview El Vaquero at 24 Main St, Toledo 43605”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

This is the 2nd time this summer we have been to the El Vaquero Downtown Toledo on the River. The first time we visited we had guacamole made to order at the table - such a generous portion with fresh toasty chips only $5.99 - superb along with a 1/2 pitcher of margaritas at $8.99 - along with the river view makes for a memorable evening! September 2nd we visited again but were disappointed in the no. 53 Beef tips burritos - the tomatoe sauce was bitter and the meat unseasoned. My husband & I shared the order and didn't even finish it. We also ordered the jalapeno poppers which were ok -but didn't taste like jalapenos....Needless to say we were disappointed but still had a nice time with downtown view, the sparkling evening water of the river and ambience of the evening.

“Best Mexican Restaurant in Toledo”
Reviewed August 1, 2012

What sets El Vaquero aside from all the other restaurants is their friendly staff and authentic food. Other Mexican restaurants in town are more americanized or Tex-Mex but this food is amazingly authentic! The staff makes sure you are satisfied and full! I would recommend the Coctel de Camaron and a Pina Colada margarita
