“Awesome...”
Reviewed April 2, 2014

An awe-inspiring visit not only architecturally but spiritually. We attended Sunday Mass and felt the presence of a vibrant congregation. The choir, in full robes, was outstanding and the acoustics phenomenal. Would have liked to have had a tour or more background on the structure before visiting. Stained glass is not unlike the Rose Window at Notre Dame.

“How is this NOT more known?”
Reviewed December 24, 2013

I grew up in Europe, and this Cathedral could hands down match itself with ANY Cathedral there! It's so beautiful (inside and out) and the acoustics in the building is spectacular. Just go and spend a couple minutes there... it's phenomenal!

“Outstanding Roman Catholic cathedral in US Heartland”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

I had an opportunity to experience Catholic Mass one Sunday at this fine edifice accompanied by my Deacon brother-in-law and other relatives who had some clout with the Diocese. One of the largest churches in The Midwest, the holy areas around the altar alone are bigger than the sanctuary in my own house of worship back in California.

There are two choirs and the outstanding sound quality was very spiritual and devotion-based. About 20 acolytes and several associate priests helped celebrate the Mass. Recognizing the growing Latino population in the Diocese, a sensitive depiction of Our Lady of Guadalupe adorned a conspicuous niche, visible to all. Caution, as usual, only Roman Catholics in good standing should come forward for the Communion. However, all are welcome for the rest of the service. Also, Masses are held daily and you may check the Diocese website for times like during mid-week.

Bottom line: If you appreciate church architecture or are traveling, this could be your place to worship in the Toledo area. Be sure to take time, though, to study the architecture and spiritual adornments when you visit.

“Great architecture and acoustics”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

This is one of the architectural gems of Toledo. The cathedral has been built in the Spanish Plateresque style with the original Toledo in Spain in mind. Anybody who is into architecture should definitely visit this cathedral.

And it is not just the magnificent architecture. They have great acoustics inside. Whenever there is any free concert in Rosary Cathedral (and there are a decent amount year round), I do my best to attend. You just sit there and let the great performances carry you away.
