“Never to old to go to the zoo”

Have not been to the zoo in about 10 years. Visited the Toledo Zoo and was not disappointed . The zoo was very clean and the animal were very active. Will not wait that long again, planning another trip before it gets cold out.

“A great zoo!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

I've been going to the Toledo Zoo for over 15 years now, and enjoy every trip. The hippoquarium was the first in the nation that was set up to watch hippos as the swim in the water. They have a pair of baby elephants, which are fun to watch. The primate set up is very good. The adolescent polar bears did nothing but romp and play, as did the baby gibbon. Although it is pricey, the food at the zoo is actually pretty good. The only real knock I'll give it is I really don't like set up for the Africa plains area. They have giraffes and other plains animals in an area that you have to take the train to see (at additional cost). The animals usually congregate in the middle, so you never get a good look at them. I see what they were trying to do with it, but it missed in a big way. Despite that, I still love this zoo and can't wait to go back!

“Lots of walking”

Great zoo to visit, animals are up close. It is somewhat confusing when walking around, but worth the trip.

“Coming Soon!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013

Located conveniently off 1-75, this wonderful Zoo is appropriate for all ages. It boasts of many animal babies and a mammoth sized alligator. The animal enclosures are amazing. There are many food venues, picnic sites and a Bistro for adult-aged visitors. The 2 sides are connected by an accessible bridge. We truly enjoyed the Polar bears and the African wild dogs. You can even take a train ride 'into Africa'! Misters help visitors keep cool in hot summer days. Walking and closed toe shoes are highly recommended. Coming soon will be a totally refurbished aquarium which is temporarily closed. We can't wait to see it!
