This beautiful historic home is a wondderful delight every time we stay here. Coffee is right outside your door every morning at your discretion and a wonderful, gourmet breakfast served in the dining room at the time you choose.
The furnishings are lovely period pieces and Julie our hostess truly makes you feel like a welcome guest.
We always stay here when in the area.

Room Tip: The grand room is the best room in the house. A wonderful sitting area and huge room for the antiqu...

We got married 7/2/11 at the casey pomery house and stayed the night in the grand suite before leaving for our honey moon in hocking hills. Everything was amazing! The room was perfect, our wedding was beautiful and breakfast was delicious!

My daughter's wedding reception was held here in August 2010, and the owner bent over backwards to make sure the house looked fantastic -- and it did. This is a former Catholic nunnery and school, and the owner and her husband are lovingly refurbishing it with great style and taste. The main floor is gorgeous with parquetry floors, a completely redone and beautifully appointed catering-quality kitchen, beautiful dining rooms and a cozy chapel. There are two sumptuous second-floor bedrooms with completely redone bathrooms and walk-in showers (perhaps the next floor has already been finished by now and there are more bedrooms!), a powder room, and a simply stunning bedroom/sitting room combination we used for a get-ready room. The owners are very nice, and even they say the house loves to have people in it. This is truly the lap of luxury!

I can't say enough about the Casey-Pomeroy house. The rooms are incredible. From their generous size to the masterful decor, these rooms have been thoughtfully restored. Every little detail has been thought of and the beds are the most comfortable I have ever had the pleasure of slumbering in. Each time I come back, more progress in this glorious restoration is evident. The newly restored front porch is 90% complete and the end result will be spectacular. The owners Susan and Stuart have put their heart and souls in this building and it really shows. Can't wait for my next stay to see what has progressed. Julie, the Inn Keeper, makes a fantastic breakfast starting with homemade granola and finishes with a main course that leaves me wanting more no matter how full I am. She's incredibly helpful directing me to all of the area attractions and current events and go's above and beyond to make us feel at home. I will NEVER stay anywhere else in Toledo.

First things first. You may drive right by this place. That would be a mistake. First off, if you are lucky, as we have been twice, you will meet Stu and Susan who are totally restoring this magnificent old mansion one painstaking square foot at a time. My wife and I have stayed here twice--both times we have been so incredibly wowed by the work that Stu and Susan have done to this once grand mansion that it will totally inspire you! This, my friends, is a work of art and love they are doing to restore this place--and for you, you get the benefit of not only witnessing and sharing a bit of history, but seeing a master craftsman at work (Stu) and sampling the most delicious granola at breakfast probably that you've ever had anywhere in the world (Susan--and a lot more, to be sure!)

We have been fortunate to stay in The Grand Suite twice. You can go to their website, but pictures can not capture this room. It only starts with a great comfortable bed, antiques galore, a radiator that sings out history at night, and plenty of room for anything you may want to do.

Go into the bathroom of this magnificent suite and you'll find maybe the finest soaking tub you'd ever want to sink into. . .or, if you prefer, you can walk into one of the largest walk-in showers you'll ever see.

And we haven't even had breakfast yet. First--the table is set to the greatest detail--nothing is left out--look around you and they have thought of everything (this is thanks to Susan and Julie who I'm sure have no flaws!). In front of you will be a heaping bowl of Susan's granola--this, you will soon find out, will be the bar that all other B & B's will be measured. You will not surpass this. But, the granola is just the start--there is yogurt to top it and fresh fruit. You will stuff yourself on this and then look in wonder as Julie brings out her quiche, potatoes, and other goodies. You will not need to eat the rest of the day.

We have been to many B & B's all over the country--this is our standard of grading all others--history, a fantastic room, wonderful food, wonderful people in Stu, Susan, and Julie, and you'll also go home and you will never look at your own house the same--that is the attention to every little detail they give their wonderful place and it will inspire you to do the same. Life changing!

A great big thank you to Stu for really going out of his way (Susan, you too!) for showing us how your work has progressed in the last year. We are not going to wait a year for our next visit. . .we'll be back this summer and look forward to sitting on the porch--there, now the pressure is on!

If you you're in downtown Toledo on business or for any other reason, there are very few good places to stay. That's why we were so happy to discover the Casey-Pomeroy B&B when attending the Frogtown rowing regatta on the Maumee River. It's a large 1870 mansion (and ex-convent) just a short walk from the Martin Luther King Jr. Bridge and the downtown area. It's a work-in-progress, with rooms being opened for guests as they're completed to help fund the restoration, and the rooms we saw (including the one where we spent a very comfortable night) are beautifully furnished and decorated in Victorian style. They are managing to do this with a logistical skill that keeps the work from interfering with the comfort of the guests (or even being particularly noticeable). The owners (Sue and Stu) are wonderful hosts and the combination of the excellent food (aparagus quiche, among other offerings) and the congeniality of the other guests led to a two-and-half-hour breakfast, though which Sue generously and happily persevered well after the check-out time. With a lovely small chapel from the house's convent days, they do small weddings and receptions, and when all the work is completed this will be a great place for small corporate meetings and retreats. We'll be back!

Loved our stay at Casey Pomeroy House this weekend. The hosts are warm and inviting and the house is beautifully restored - with a few rooms and exterior elements still in progress, which offer a fascinating look at the restoration process. Our room, the Pomeroy suite, was cozy and comfortable, and breakfast in the gracious dining room offered a chance to meet other guests and start our day in a relaxing environment. We love B&Bs because of the personal attention and the CP House delivered in spades.
