Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: At The Farm at Walnut Creek, you will find both a unique and educational experience for the entire family. On your visit, you will have the opportunity to view and feed 650 domestic species as well as animals from six different continents – buffalo, llamas, giraffes, deer, elk and much more. Enjoy hand feeding these animals from the comfort of your own car or take our leisurely horse drawn wagon ride with our experienced Amish guides. Also, plan to visit our barns - all built to resemble a working Amish farm. Depending on the season, you can experience plowing, thrashing, sowing seeds, growing produce, canning, milking, quilting, and baking. Be sure to take a stroll through our non-electric farm houses, the produce stand for all of your fresh produce needs, and don’t forget your camera to capture the memories. Be sure to ask questions of our Amish staff - they'll be happy to explain. We recommend you budget about 2 to 3 hours for a visit to The Farm.

We had an amazing time on our visit. We opted to drive through the safari and we are so glad we did. The animals ate right from our hands from food we purchased at the farm. During the home tour we were able to see the Amish women preparing canned foods, doing laundry by hand and quilting. The grounds are impeccable and everything was spotless. This is a must do if you’re visiting the area.

Pleasantly surprised at this huge “farm”. Really a drive through zoo with great animals. We pulled in to the check in barn, bought tickets for admission and the wagon tour. We thought that the price was very reasonable. While we waited for our appointed time, we first drove through and saw many animals up close, especially a very curious ostrich. We used the restrooms in the house and were treated to fresh baked cookies upstairs. Then we walked through some of the large viewing area. The wagon ride was the highlight. Everyone got a small bucket of feed and the animals flicked to us. The driver told us what the animals were and how to feed them. Some ate right out of your hand. The kids were so fun to watch as llamas, yaks, spotted deer, pot bellied pigs, zebra, giraffes, ostrich, emus, water buffalo, etc all wandered by or came up to the wagon. They also visited camels, goats, peacocks, pheasants, etc. Highly recommend this place.

We came here once before and the kids loved it. It is really a beautiful setting. I find the prices to be a little high for what you are doing/getting. The kids loved feeding the animals; there are camels as you walk up the hill to the wagons. We enjoyed the wagons, bu I personally don't like feeding the animals. However, everyone had fun doing it, and some of the animals are silly. My girls loved the giraffes. The wagon driver was very nice and shared a lot with us. There is an area with various birds you can see, although some of them look a bit sad and tired. The goats are pretty cute and amusing. The pig area is pretty disgusting, but maybe that is on purpose. The big house is pretty, but it might be nice to have some information in there about how the Amish live. I think that people are genuinely curious and it would be wise to share more about that. It is a nice trip, and great if you have kids. Just a bit pricey.

I have been here twice because it's so much fun to see and feed all of the animals. It's a beautiful setting and a fun wagon ride. Such a beautiful setting and a lovely way to spend the afternoon.

My wife and I went here on our get away. We paid the $16.75 each that included the wagon ride. They had many wagons going and it did not take long to get on. Make sure you get on the left side of the wagon if you are excited about the giraffes. That is the side of the wagon that will be coming up against their enclosure. Had a wonderful time feeding the animals and getting touch and interact with them. Notice people driving the path also and some of the cars had towels hanging out their window to cover their doors from slobbers or possible scratching. Went through the farm houses and got to sample jelly and jams, bought some fresh made bread loafs for $3 each. They gave away free cookies and was very good. Loved this place and will go back. Would love to come in the fall or winter. Their guide says they do sleigh rides in the snow.
