“For a "real" Comfort experience, drive 10 in minutes to Twinsburg”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

Poorest example of a Comfort Inn we've ever stayed in. Our relatives had arranged a night here for us as their "treat" after their daughter's wedding and although they had arranged payment, the front desk insisted that the room charge be put on our credit card. This was after putting us in a room that was furthest from the lobby, noisy and very worn out. The comp breakfast was well picked over before we arrived at 8am and resupply didn't appear to be a priority. Compared to the Twinsburg Comfort Suite, this location needs a lot of work!

Room Tip: Go to Twinsburg

My wife and I stayed here on our way home from a long motorcycle trip. He hadn't booked in advance and just showed up. The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. She was able to put us in a great upgraded room at no extra charge. We got our room, a King suite and it was very nice. The room was big, free wifi, fridge and microwave. The bed was very comfortable and the A/C worked great. There are a lot of great restaurants in walking distance to the hotel. The hotel is very clean. They have a complimentary hot breakfast which was very good. I would recommend this hotel.

We stayed here November 4 & 5, 2011. We visited both thwe NFL hall of fame and R&R hall of fame. It was about a 1/2 hr to both places from the hotel.
The hotel could use some sprucing up, but was clean & comfortable.
The spa was not in working order but we were able to use the pool.
The desk help was great and cordial. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide selection of items.
Call and ask for the saw it on the turnpike discount. 2 nights including tax was about $113.

My wife and I stayed here over the weekend when visiting our daughter at KSU. The university is only 7 miles away. This is a much better area to stay in (more stores and restaurants close by) than in Kent itself where there are not many options.

Our room had a King-size bed, free internet, and the basic essentials you would normally expect (shampoo, coffee maker, etc.). The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. As we were situated next to the meeting room we did get a little noise in the morning but it really didn't bother us.

The breakfast in the morning was decent with hot food including waffles, eggs, bacon, as well as pastries and bagels.

Don't expect luxury here, but we found the staff to be very friendly, the location to be good, the room comfortable and the cleanliness on par with other hotels in it's class. It is not over priced at $80/night for a King room. Overall I would rate our stay as good and would not hesistate to stay here again.

Room Tip: Do not take room 117 which is right next to the conference room

We stopped here for 1 night and were thoroughly satisfied with our accommodations. We had a king and the bed (esp the pillows) were very comfortable. The pool surround was a bit uncomfortable to walk on and the spa was out of order but we were told the renovations on the pool area will begin soon. The desk staff went out of their way to be helpful and we had several restaurants (within walking distance) to choose from. The Fun Buffet (Chinese) was excellent! The complimentary breakfast was very good --- scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes to go along with the usual waffle machine. We will definitely stay again.

This hotel is a good choice for business travelers and families with kids. It’s clean, pleasant, easy to get to from Interstate 80, and close to a variety of restaurants and stores. The staff members were all friendly and helpful, providing good info on local restaurants and attractions. Our king non-smoking room included a sleeper sofa and coffee maker. Housekeeping has thoughtfully provided a full roll of paper towels in the bathroom to deal with any spills that may occur and to encourage guests to refrain from using towels for that purpose. Good to know: You’ll need your room key to activate the ice machine. Also check out the ads printed on the key. Ours offered a 10% discount at a nearby Eat N Park. The good: clean, comfy bed; spacious room, extra pillows in the closet. Good variety and quality of food at the complimentary breakfast. Room for improvement: Tables in the breakfast area are too close together; when the room fills up, as it did when we were there, you’ll feel crowded and may have to move chairs, bang your shins, and excuse yourself a lot to get out! This seating arrangement will pose problems for anyone in a wheelchair or who has mobility issues. This hotel should consider expanding the seating area into the small, old fashioned lobby. It could then do away with the signs admonishing “no food or drink in the lobby area.” Guests ate there anyway because there was no room in the breakfast room! The indoor pool (not wonderful, but ok) will be undergoing a renovation soon and the hot tub was closed in July (probably part of the planned renovation). Overall décor in the hotel dates from the 80s – mauve and blue dominate in rose and leaf wallpaper borders. Furniture is also showing its age. And there are some structural items that need tending. There were some loose wall tiles and a heat lamp that would not stay on for the full 12 minutes in the bathroom. The bi-fold closet door tore away at the wallboard every time we tried to get it open; it looked like they forgot to install a proper top frame. Appreciated the roll of paper towels in the bathroom, but would have also liked to have had a rubber bath mat. Reported these items to staff, who made a note for maintenance. If you are just stopping over as you roll through the country, you will get a good night’s sleep and a good breakfast (though not necessarily a comfortable spot to eat it in), but this hotel is not a good choice for an extended stay or family vacation. Do not choose for romance! Kindly suggestions for this hotel: Remove those old style, oversized ashtrays from the wall near the elevator doors. Those sad looking plastic plants don’t really do a good job of disguising the ashtrays; nice try, but why not remove them entirely for a cleaner, more modern look? And consider bagging the signs telling people how to behave. Those of us who know how, do; those who don’t, wont, and no sign is going to make them!

Recently stayed here with a group. Not one of us were happy with this hotel. Our room's air conditioning did not work, the wallpaper was peeling off the wall, there were loose tiles in the bathroom (making the floor gritty and sandy), and the water was brown. We could not use the shower/tub as the water was so nasty. If that was not enough, the staff was rude as well. Not only will we never stay here again, we will seriously think about staying at any Comfort Inn again.
